If the balance point has changed, like you say, then they should perform a lot better than the model they replace. With the bigger blade design, I assume you do more work, hence you need to adjust the outboard length to allow for this. Is that the case with the new C2 smoothies? Some of the lightweight women rowers over here cut away a portion of the smoothies blades to lighten the load. Do they do that over there also?

You say you can alter the balance point. I didn't think you could do that without reshaping the shaft. Although all shafts may look the same there is a lot of technology in the shaft design with thickness, type of materials used and in built flex points. Much the same as cross country ski poles.

Keep it smooth, keep it relaxed
Roland Baltutis

With the larger blade, the overall length has been shortened ~5cm, I think these were close to 282cm overall. I haven't seen any obviously cut down blades, but have heard of it being done, seems a good solution to reduce load once length is as short as it can go.

Adding Weight to the handle end will shift the BP, I think that it will take less than 1oz, which will not be noticable in overall weight. The Croker folks seem to have gone the same route as Canondale bicycles (Large diameter thin tube for added stiffness, if also being a bit more fragile. The new C2's do mention that they may not be quite as durable in an impact also.)

Keep it right side up, down under.....

I'm looking for a medium to small fan to direct warm air out of the house, and pull in cool air in the evenings in summer.

Also I will use the fan with my fireplace insert in the winters.

What fan do you feel has a good balance of strong air flow and quietness?

Thanks.

I thought we were discussing Erging and Rowing, not HVAC.

that just go to show that rowing is not al about getting fit, but in part it is about spending time in a boat out side.

those of you who agree with is statement are rowers if you disagree then your an erger.

and if you have never been in a rowing boat on the water you really should give it a go.
