All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 11.2.13

Post by Kona2 » November 3rd, 2013, 1:46 pm

Image Another episode....

In the northern hemisphere, daylight is shrinking about 1.5 to 2 minutes a day as we head towards the Winter Solstice. So right now, most of us have daylight for 10.5 hours or so. When 5 pm comes around today and it is the Time of the Dark, I'm betting that it will feel like it's an abrupt change from yesterday now that we've put away Daylight Savings Time for the next four months. The range of daylight as a percentage of the 24 hour day goes from 39 percent (approximately 9 hr and 26 min at Winter Solstice) to 62 percent (approximately 14 hrs and 54 min at Summer Solstice). That range doesn't apply to the Arctic Circle or much of Alaska...imagine no sunrise for like 67 days if you lived in Barrow, Alaska. Whoa.

Back in graduate school when daylight and dark didn't seem to matter as much, I read a science fiction/fantasy series by Barbara Hambly. It's now called the DarWath series I think. The first book is called The Time of The Dark. This was reprinted in 2000, and is probably available in a lot of different formats if the write up on Goodreads appeals to you. Sometimes we all get a little more reading done in the winter....

Season meters as of 186/365 = 59,011,030 m

Total meters on the day = 1,210,564 m

Oars in space (participation) = 23 percent

SkiErg Meters vs Rowing Meters vs On Water Meters

Post by Kona2 » November 4th, 2013, 12:43 pm

A few of our team members use both the indoor rower and the skierg. As far as I know, the only time that I can "see" that meters are skierg meters are during challenges that allow for a dropdown box (such as the Fall Challenge) which then shows those meters. I have a call into Concept2 to see if there is something I need to do differently to get visibility to the skierg meters completed. Does anyone else know how these are listed in the affiliation detail of the logbooks?

RowPro 4 for $39.60: Promo Code - 75344791

For what its worth I received several emails from RowPro over the last couple of days (all of which ended up in my spam folder) for a promotion that cuts the price of RowPro 4 from $99 to $39.60. It appears the promo code (75344791) is still working as I just picked up a copy. I previously had a one month trial copy but found the $99 price point too high. So if you're interested in purchasing a copy today would be the day!

Announcing RowPro 4
Special offer extended one more day
Our $39.60 special for RowPro 4 has been so hugely popular we're extending it for one more day.

Remember that's 60% off the regular price. But hurry, this special price is only available for one more day.

To get the special price, click Buy RowPro below, and in the Home Users tab select RowPro Home Edition and enter coupon code 75344791.

You can download the RowPro 4 software from http://www.digitalrowing.com/software.
