Would be great if it is a good year - the fans are pretty charged up. Of course, I was pretty charged up here in Tucson when Fox Sports decided to switch over to the San Diego game in the middle of the Broncos third quarter...because they said that the Broncos game wasn't competitive enough. Grrrrr. I knew I should have taken Mom to a sports bar....

Wow, a lot of meters piling up.
The other day I was bragging about trying to make the 100,000 meter mark for this challenge and accidentally said miles instead of meters! Boy was I embarrassed when the responses came back. That'll teach me to send out messages before I'm fully awake.

Way to row, Chris, Rose & Doctor Dan!

And this just in from a fellow competitor in the rowing universe:

Dear Captain, Congrats on Luna-tics putting in so many meters - I am rowing for Island Rowing and we are trying to catch up. I wanted to make your team aware of a fundraiser that the Melbourne Florida High School crew team is beginning tomorrow night. They are rowing 4 hrs straight through to raise money for a rowing scholarship. 100% of the revenue goes to the club. If anyone is interested, more can be learned at http://www.piggybackr.com/melhicrew. Thanks, David Carroll

Congrats to Minnie Ronnie Dr Dan Rosi and anyone I may have missed. Great rowing!!!
Selfish boasting here sorry
My grandkids that used to row with us are having wonderful sport seasons. Tristan is a right guard on O and linebacker on D on his jv team. They are undefeated so far and won a 6 ot game last night. Dalton is a FB on the fifth grade team and has scored 2 tds in all 4 games so far. Ethan is playing flag football and scored a td in each of his 4games. Kaylee is in advanced gymnastics. Ashlee and Allies softball team won district this summer in 8 and under softball and are undefeated in fall ball so far. Bobbie and i are a very proud Nana and Gramps and attend most games unless they play at the same time. Sorry for the boasting not my normal but that 6ot game last night had us bouncing in our seats.

Post by Kona2 » October 4th, 2013, 2:28 pm

Welcome to new teammate David Wheeler. David's a recent amputee who has begun rowing...and wants to connect with other teammates who are adaptive rowers! We are a supportive team, and wish you many good rowing sessions and lots of camaraderie!

Posting has been somewhat intermittent in the last week due to travel, and illness of a family member. It was a scary scenario to have an elderly relative come to Denver for a visit on Tuesday, and then wake up on Wednesday saying that he needed to go to the emergency room. Ended up with a quick surgery on Thursday for some repairs, and they'll release him today. The good thing is that there is definitely a support system here, so the timing of the health issue actually worked out well. I can say that now that resolution is in sight. Yikes.
