So I am using this challenge to gradually improve my rowing. I want to do at least one HM during the challenge, but am taking my time, listening to advice, improving my form, and gradually lengthening my distance rows. Yesterday, I did a 15k row with no lingering after effects. Feel great today and am heading back to gym before too long. I have mentioned before that I do a lot of cross-training, so yesterday I did a 2500m warm up row before lifting weights for an hour and ten minutes. Then I went back to the gym after dinner about 5 hours later and did my 15k row. Not worrying about time at all, following the long slow distance advice. I do think I am about ready to tackle my HM. From an endurance and lingering effects perspective I want it to be a non-event. I still tend to go at it hard if I don't focus on my tempo, but when I focus it is easy to keep my stroke rate in the 26-29 range. I am loving this newfound passion. Now I want to find the space at home for my own C2 rower. Have a great fall day everybody and row to your hearts content, literally!

Good luck on the HM. Just as a thought, you may also want to sprinkle some interval training in there somewhere.

Thanks Ron, I have been mixing in elements of WoD off of the C2
site as well as bits of the Pete plan along with my own variations
of row hard for a minute, recover for a minute... Varying the interval
time lengths. Always equal duration between hard and recover...sometimes
2 minutes each and sometimes based on a stroke count instead. 100
hard strokes followed by 100 easy strokes. Looking forward to it, last night
I was so tempted to finish off the HM, but I really don't want to be over
anxious and i am just going to let myself grow into it the right way.

Slow and steady is the best approach. Looking forward to seeing your HM post :)

To Diane M

Outstanding meters put up...... I am  with envy! Very very impressive, how are you doing it without getting in trouble at the club. Oh that's right just like at my club no one knows how to use the rower.. :-)

Great work by the Team we are putting up some serious numbers....

Thanks David!

What I want to know how the heck Darlene rows so much every day, day after day after day.....

I mean she must have servants and not have anything else to do, ever... LOL I catch her and she rows 100k for sh*ts and giggles it seems... Does that woman sleep????

(Yes, I AM jealous!)

There are two rowers at my gym and ya, no one uses em really other than for 5 minutes tops. Sometimes if they sit and stare at me, so I stop, write down my numbers and clear monitor and let them row. I have a friend who was away for the week too and she never uses her C2 other than a dust gatherer and clothes rack, so she let me borrow hers until she came back. ( she wouldn't sell it to me though, the brat...) Mine is due to arrive Monday so then I too can row the day away and let the cobwebs gather to make my house more Halloweenish LOL ( and yes, I told her to join and row with us, but she says she is too busy... I said whatever fatty... and winked LOL (I weigh like 70 pounds more than her, so I can do that) LOL

That said, night all. My legs still have not recovered from today's 50k rows (back to back full marathon and then another 7,805m to make it a even 50k) and are telling me with every step "we are tireds, plwease go to bed and rest". LOL

PS, I LOVE the Bubble Soccer, TOO FUNNY!!!!

Just posted my results for the past two weeks, so it looks like I'll manage to hit 100k for the challenge.

Sorry to so suddenly abandon the forum, but I was and have been and will be absolutely overwhelmed by an family tragedy that will likely continue for several months. No condolences needed--I know they will be heartfelt, but I won't be here to read them.

Thank God for rowing! Yay Team!!
