Okay, TimbukTOOers! I ground out a fast 10K, & now I'm off on vacation for a week to the Nor'east! Hate to leave July without covering my 200K for the month, will need to make up for this at a later time...
I'm leaving you in the able hands of our fair Damselfly! It's times like this I'm glad we didn't make her walk the plank!

David and Jim are the ones with the big milestones this week. I've just been too busy to crosstrain in the pool.

I am supposed to be training for head racing. I row four times a week OTW and then swim or erg the other three days. I did start lifting weights on weekdays as well. I am positive that extra strength will get my erg times down and hopefully the bulk meters OTW will help me translate that into boat moving power.

The 3k Steerhead Regatta is on September 14th in Fort Worth.
The 5k Head of the Colorado is on October 26th in Austin.

That's it until the erg race in February. I am not participating in the sprint or head race national championships this year.

Fur was flying, and I was furious. What does that count as?

Although I generally go "off the grid" & "unplugged" while on vacation, I am signing in this time. I actually got to a Gold's Gym in Baltimore on Monday that I was able to do a pretty complete workout (20 minutes stair climber, 20 min. rower, weights + machines for resistance training). They had a rower that said Matrix on the side, good enough to use, but bad enough to miss my C2. Hopefully enough that I don't come home BOTH fat AND out of shape.
Good food though (am trying to eat more veggies 'n stuff while on vacation, though)...

Would really like to do a team push to re-claim 9th Place when I get back! Anybody with me on this?

It looks like I'm able to get back to rowing albeit in a limited way - it will take me some time to get back to any great distance.

What will it take to reclaim 9th place? I'll help in any way that I can.

Don't push it hard, Ron! It's a long season... Recuperate smart.

The team (affiliation) standings page has us currently about 650k behind the 9th place team...

It's hard to put in a ton of meters with trying to enjoy the out-of-doors -- two days swimming, two days biking, two days rowing, one day for a hike/walk with the hubby, there's a week gone....

Thanks Lisa. I certainly won't be rowing 650k any time soon - probably won't be winning any races either - but I will help the cause as I much as I can.
