Good luck! Having a plan is key. You shouldn't need to worry about water for food for a HM so just focus on those longer rows.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh I can't believe I was close to to 1 million, I should have looked prior to working out this morning... and no time to get any more in prior to be off for another 7 days... oh well.... That is just going to have to wait until I come back to reality on July 8th. 10K piece today is in the logbook. That's the longest single distance row I've done in quite some time. Only problems are my lower back and hands. I've got calluses built up from rowing and lifting weights, but I get hot spots under the calluses which will develop into blisters (I used to have the same problem with my feet when I ran marathons and ultras). Can anyone suggest a good pair of gloves for rowing? I read that Roz Savage used kangaroo gloves on her ocean rows, but I'm in the states. I saw these advertised http://www.newgrip.com/rowing.html

I have the newgrips. They work well for me. I get annoyed by the hand sweat though so I have chopped up some old washcloths and have a layer of terry between my hand and the glove. Between that and the glove I'm super padded. No calluses or blisters!

I thought the hand sweat was a new thing, at least the fact that it would seep through and my left handle would slip. So I bought a replacement set of hand pads from NewGrips, the handle slipped on my second row, & I even got a blister. New material?
