All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 6.18.13

Post by Kona2 » June 19th, 2013, 9:14 am

Image It's almost here !! Mark your erg calendars for this FRIDAY!

For the Solstice Challenge, you can do multiple rows throughout the 24 hr period to get to that 21,000 m....unless you'd like to tack on 97 m to make it an official half marathon...then it's go for it with a single rowing session!

Sounds of jackhammers filling the air as neighbors on both sides replace driveways......hooboy! More sounds of progress. Yet just a few bicycle miles away, there are fields full of cows and horses...a welcome diversion.

Season meters as of 49/365 = 11,229,848 m

Total meters on the day = 164,529 m

Oars in space (participation) = 20 percent

Of course, we're reading stats ... thought, as an honorary "Minnie," I keep looking over my shoulder for low flying owls. Really slows me down. I have two Netflix movies, and Season 3 of Justified, to watch: grandiose aspirations of mega-meters, this week ... maybe ... :)

Whoop, whoop and hooyah! bg celebrates the first day of summer in a big way -- must be that background as a teacher that has her doing flips and running through the streets of Somerville shouting "school's out for the summmmmer." (Of course, with a city named Somerville, can we expect any less?!?) Yep, I can see it now! Congratulations, Barbara, on achieving a ONE million meter rowing season! We wish you many, MANY more!

Thanks K2. My friends, in a few days I will probably be going into battle. We hear the the Rebs have crossed into Pennsylvania and are headed towards Harrisburg. I think we will be on forced marches in an effort to get between Lee and Washington City. So if you don't hear from me for a while do not take that has a bad sign.
Hurrah for the Union and "Touch the Elbow"
Ron

Ok...what IS the reference to "Touch the Elbow"? I see that there is a Civil War blog with that name, but suspect there is more to it... :D

Way to go, bg!! Never did a nude run, unless you count an impromptu SUI (Streaking under the Influence).
Now this is interesting... the fashion choices of our million-meter leaders seem to push the envelope just a bit... Richard, you're getting mighty close. So, what are you up to?

Kona2

Thanks for the warm welcome after an extended absence. Our rower has been in a storage locker for many months and it feels good to get back in the saddle. Now that our move is behind us and we are getting comfortable in our new Tennessee home I should be able to add some meters to the cause.

Thanks for all you do.

Rich
