Looks like Barbara from the Lunatics is OK (according to their team room chatter). Pam, I'm keeping your friend Arla in my thoughts. This is just so awful.

Thanks for the update Lisa..
After reading their forum it looks like she checked in at a certain check point after the incident.so is ok.I know this will take an emotional toll on all who are there..so ok..is a relative term but to know that she escaped physical harm is such a relief!! My heart is with everyone there ..all of your friends and family who participated!

Found out late last night that Arla is ok. I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around how something like this could happen. I guess I should just be thankful that I don't live somewhere where this kind of stuff happens all the timedamselfly wrote: Pam, I'm keeping your friend Arla in my thoughts. This is just so awful.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Nice work, Izzz! Your determination is astounding!
Yes, it looks like I'll handily make a cool million for the season. A nice achievement for me. I haven't done another time trial 2000m since, well, I don't remember when I did that last one... Anyway, so, no PR for me. I will probably do a time trial 500m and 1000m before the end of the month, just to get some numbers on the rankings for this season.
It appears that winter has finally moved on out of here! Just like it's getting progressively more difficult to force my kids to do their homework , so it is with me getting on my rower now. I just cannot wait to get outside! And even if I were to put my rower outside, I still would rather be walking around the yard or doing some kind of outdoor chore than rowing. It's *possible* that you might see my meters drop off once May arrives!
Andy- hilarious post on being a "new age" dad! LOVED that. My husband bought my rower for me as a surprise "thank-you-for-having-this-baby-for-us gift" after our second kid was born. I mean, I guess that's why he bought it for me. Anyway, as any smart, intuitive hubby would do, he encourages me to row each day, and will gladly be in charge of the kids for A WHOLE 30 MINUTES ( ) while I row. We all agree that I'm more fun to be around after I have some exercise!
I didn't formally set a goal for the WEC (is that the correct acronym?), but since it's a month-long event, I would place my goal at 120,000 m. Izzz/Lisa, am I close to that? You don't have to figure it out if it's a pain in the butt. I can do it myself anyway. No worries.
Best regards to all teammates! Enjoy springtime!

We're gearing up for a move to a new home so I won't be rowing for about a week. Hopefully I'll find a nice cozy new spot for the rower; I may have to take over part of the garage.Izzzmeister wrote:Ron M - 6,000 Habibi, remember the value of REST!
Actually, I've lived in apartments for most of my adult life, so this will be a strange new experience - I won't have people to do all those outdoor chore and fix-it thingies. One nice thing is that I'll finally be able to row whenever I want without worrying about making too much noise; I've had complaints in the past = something about rowing at 2:00AM over my downstairs neighbor's bedroom not being their idea of a fun night. I tried to explain about the benefit of rowing, but they really didn't seem that interested. Go figure.

I thought your neighbors would like being able to make all the noise they wanted!
When we bought our house in Minneapolis, our friends said, "Guess you must like to shovel and mow!"
