Congratulations on 5 mill, Smitty! Did you have to prompt them to send you your shirt and pin or is it automagic somehow?The Blacksmith wrote:Just got my 5 mill pin and shirt from C2. Gotta love freebies. I haven't set a goal for the challenge because I'm just going with the marathon training thing-it's enough of a goal for me just to stick with that. But, the marathon plan says that you'll do 800k to a mill or so in 3 months so I'll have a decent month. Good luck to all.

What is it that motivates a person to row... or even to sew?
Seeing others accomplishments establishes a belief that "IT" can be done. Like my old high school football coach use to say "You gotta' believe it before you can be it".
As for rowing, watching one of my favorite youtube clips does it for me. The following vid helped me make my newest 2K PR.
---->For a mere 7:06.9 seconds I WAS Xeno Muller!
As for sewing seeing is believing as well. Watching this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qO4AETl9rb4 inspired my latest sewing creation (Bimini, dodger, bikini, or doggie shade???) ---> http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8372/8571 ... bda8_b.jpg
Whats your source of inspiration/motivation? Videos, songs, etc....This should be fun.

I don't have any video's, songs etc to share for motivation. All I have is a determination to get beyond my health issue's and be as healthy as I can be. I think I got double dosed in tenacity or call it sure stubborness

A note on sewing...
I should explain the "Sewing" thing. Back a couple of months ago starting with this < http://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... ne#p184646 > post --- A frenzied series of sewing posts were made. The topic of manliness and sewing made an appearance -- How could I refuse? And I won - I had the most sewing machines.

Had to order it off the site. I think I clicked on the million meter club somewhere and it put me to where I ordered it. Wish I could give better directions to find it, but I wasn't paying attention.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Thanks, Mark. I'm about 500k behind you (but it took me a lot longer to get there than you!).
Regarding the motivation, right now for rowing it's just the challenges and being first mate of the team that keeps me going. (That's why I got involved with the team in the first place years ago. I knew otherwise my erg would become the world's largest dust bunny.) For running, it's the way I feel being on the trail with all the scenery, trees, plants, animals, and how great I feel after doing some killer hills. Nothing comes close to that with rowing -- for me.
Hmmm... that video (impressive, BTW!) says Xeno likes hanging around in Corona Del Mar -- right here in Orange County! I wonder where he rows... (--- google --- ) Hey! Looks like he still coaches around these parts. http://xenocoach.com

Just the regular Challenges page http://log.concept2.com/log_challenges.asp, scroll down, and on the left side, where it says "Indoor Rower Million Meter Club" there's a section named "Prizes!" which should tell you what you're eligible for..The Blacksmith wrote:damselfly wrote:...Did you have to prompt them to send you your shirt and pin or is it automagic somehow?

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
No cash , just prizes. As for the motivational thing, I'm an outdoor person so erging is really not fun. Feel like a hamster on a wheel. The team thing helps, and I really focus on the fact that it gets me ready for racing. I race in "fixed seat single" class, so the erg is not really the best thing, but it works well enough.
