Seat Frustration and Numbness
Well, the subject about says it all. I purchased the adhesive backed seat pad when I bought the Model C and soon discovered how ineffective it was for me. So, then I bought a "rower" gel seat that was touted as being the seat pad to end all seat pads. A bit of an exaggeration I'm thinking since I still have the issue of tush sensitivity about 15 minutes into the row. At the 20 minute mark, in addition to the tush discomfort, I can feel numbness creeping down my left leg. At the 30 minute mark, I'm thinking I should quit. At the 45 minute mark, the leg isn't dead but the tush is definitely sore and I have to sit on the rower for a moment until good circulation is restored to the left leg. Hmmm, me thinks this is not the exercise scenario I envisioned. Oh, this has been evolving for a few years now and other than the fact I've slowed down a little for the last 66 years, no other machine related exercise has the same effect. I've also tried the towell trick for padding and quite honestly, all shifting cloth does is contribute to the problem. Any further suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Towels, bubble wrap, patience, avoid rocking the pelvis back and forth. Can't think of any others for the moment, but no doubt losing weight would help, I must try it.

There's an old thread I've found here that lists a number of products: http://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 00#p122222
The JeL pad looks fairly plush.
I've been considering the JL Racing JeL Pad and gelsport.com "Rowing" pad myself. Is the "Rowing" pad the one you refer to in your post?

This looks promising as well: http://www.mcssl.com/store/rowing-pad/2 ... el-no-8633

It was also a problem for me after the 4K mark, until I buy what is called a tufted bar stool cushion. Google it, buy it and feel the difference.

I just use two of the C2 seat pads and that works really well for me.

Re: Seat Frustration and Numbness
Actually I think this is a body fat problem. I think the problem occurs when you loose to much of the natural cushion you begin to have problems. Have not had issues with the stock standard seat until more recently and it has become more and more uncomfortable. The main problem is that it is pretty hard and not a "Gel" so it doesn't conform to your body at all. Has not got to the point that I'm desperate for a solution but complete replacement seat options from Concept 2 would be a good idea and a great way to increase their business. Four bolts and you can swap it easy and the seat wood bottom should be a marine plywood as well.
