Sounds stunning! I don't suppose you had a camera... ?The Blacksmith wrote:No rowing today, but I di XC ski 7.1 miles up at Minnewaska State Park. Stunning vistas-probably 40-50 mile view-saw the Hudson Highlands, Berkshire Mountains, and Catskill High Peaks and everything inbetween. Clear blue skies, perfecly groomed trails, amazing areas.

Just print out your logcard, then delete it and start over...The Blacksmith wrote:Much as I hate to admit it, the 36K is a few days numbers. My log card got filled up and I'm not liking hand entering my numbers. I realized that I am well over 5 MILLION meters now. There is a discrepancy between what's on the card versus what's in the online log-but I probably won't look into why it's different-doesn't really bother me enough to waste time chasing numbers We got a foot of snow last night-now to go out on my snowshoes-there is snow on all the tree branches-it is quite beautiful and don't want to waste it.
P.S. I did do 18 and change yesterday though.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
So I ramble on about trail running here and took a couple of shots last week on a pretty winter day I thought I'd share. They're in my favorite park, Whiting Ranch. Now you know what I mean when I talk about the hills.
Panorama shot... The trail left of center is called Dreaded Hill, over a mile long and an elevation gain of 1000 feet. I have yet to make it up without stopping a couple of times to double over and suck in oxygen like mad.
Here's one in another part of the county I did today. 11 mile run, this part was another 1-mile uphill, 800-foot climb. I managed to pace it so I did the whole thing without breaking to a walk. Not bad for an old broad. I can't walk now.
So, yeah, no meters for me today either!

Wow-now that looks tough. 8oo foot climb in 1 mile-in an 11 mile run-very impressive.

That is some beautiful countryside, Lisa! I can't believe that is what "winter" looks like out there. I think we're moving!

Andy...I've been taking yoga classes since last May,(2-3 x/wk) no yoga pants for me though just shorts and t-shirt. I did go red neck on one shirt and cut the sleeves off Our teacher writes quotes on a little blackboard, heres one she wrote a few weeks ago: "The body is not weak, The mind is weak."

Those are some nice trails. I'd be on them myself if they were close to my house.damselfly wrote:So I ramble on about trail running here and took a couple of shots last week on a pretty winter day I thought I'd share. I've thought about yoga myself, but opted for a western stretching program based on Bob Anderson's "Stretching". It is basically what we used to do in gym class only done right with a lot more variation and detail.Kyle J wrote:Andy...I've been taking yoga classes since last May,(2-3 x/wk) no yoga pants for me though just shorts and t-shirt. Come on out!! Winter is our green time. In the summer those hills are all brown and crisp and just waiting for some idiot with a match. And if there's anything we have a lot of here in SoCal, it's idiots!CONLEJM wrote:That is some beautiful countryside, Lisa! I can't believe that is what "winter" looks like out there. Ha!! Not only was Jim ROTD, but Firefox captured him as the thumbnail for my online logbook. I get to enjoy Jim's smiling visage every time I open a new tab in FF!
