Sounds stunning! I don't suppose you had a camera... ?

I realized that I am well over 5 MILLION meters now. There is a discrepancy between what's on the card versus what's in the online log-but I probably won't look into why it's different-doesn't really bother me enough to waste time chasing numbers :) We got a foot of snow last night-now to go out on my snowshoes-there is snow on all the tree branches-it is quite beautiful and don't want to waste it.
P.S. I did do 18 and change yesterday though.
Just print out your logcard, then delete it and start over...

So I ramble on about trail running here and took a couple of shots last week on a pretty winter day I thought I'd share. They're in my favorite park, Whiting Ranch. Now you know what I mean when I talk about the hills. :D

Image

Panorama shot... The trail left of center is called Dreaded Hill, over a mile long and an elevation gain of 1000 feet. I have yet to make it up without stopping a couple of times to double over and suck in oxygen like mad.

Image

Here's one in another part of the county I did today. 11 mile run, this part was another 1-mile uphill, 800-foot climb. I managed to pace it so I did the whole thing without breaking to a walk. Not bad for an old broad. B) I can't walk now.

So, yeah, no meters for me today either!

Wow-now that looks tough. 8oo foot climb in 1 mile-in an 11 mile run-very impressive.

Most definitely! I cranked out a pr HM at 2:02/500 that I was happy with, now if I could just shave off 8 more minutes I'd be as fast as Jim  Better eat my wheaties  Or start doing multi mile trail runs...cool pics Lisa. "Pretty winter day" :P
Its been pretty winter around here too, but in a different way!
I like reading about folks achievements on and off the erg, its good for grabbing tid bits of inspiration from here and there.
Andy...I've been taking yoga classes since last May,(2-3 x/wk) no yoga pants for me though just shorts and t-shirt. I did go red neck on one shirt and cut the sleeves off :) Our teacher writes quotes on a little blackboard, heres one she wrote a few weeks ago: "The body is not weak, The mind is weak."

Congrats! I saw it myself and thought that picture looked like someone that rows more meters than me.

Those are some nice trails. I'd be on them myself if they were close to my house.

I've thought about yoga myself, but opted for a western stretching program based on Bob Anderson's "Stretching". It is basically what we used to do in gym class only done right with a lot more variation and detail.

Come on out!! Winter is our green time. In the summer those hills are all brown and crisp and just waiting for some idiot with a match. And if there's anything we have a lot of here in SoCal, it's idiots! :P
