Thanks for asking. I'm spending 30' a day stretching and I have started cross training on the bike. I hope to get in the pool as well. I have a swim test to get out of the way before I do a learn to row clinic in March.

My workouts still follow the wolverine plan, but I am now only doing 1 session per day. That helps me maintain the proper intensity and frees me up to do the stretching and cross training.

Ha. I knew you had to start stretching someday! Clinic, eh? I assume you're teaching. Very cool!!

I have a copy of Bob Anderson's "Stretching". It is a great book, but I let it collect dust until my body started to demand some attention. I figure stretching is better than yoga despite the surprising fact that yoga pants come in mens sizes.

The clinic is for folks like me that don't know how to row an actual boat. If all goes well I will join the club, get on a boat, and have an actual human coach tell me how to get faster.

Much as I hate to admit it, the 36K is a few days numbers. My log card got filled up and I'm not liking hand entering my numbers. I realized that I am well over 5 MILLION meters now. There is a discrepancy between what's on the card versus what's in the online log-but I probably won't look into why it's different-doesn't really bother me enough to waste time chasing numbers :) We got a foot of snow last night-now to go out on my snowshoes-there is snow on all the tree branches-it is quite beautiful and don't want to waste it.
P.S. I did do 18 and change yesterday though.

Wait till you get in a real shell-very tippy and sensitive-but fast! It's quite different from a rowing machine. With my shell, I found with the return I need to be way gentle or it actually slows the shell down. I was surprised the inertia from the return would actually be enough to affect the speed of the boat.

The irony is that after many hours shoveling and snowblowing just under three feet of snow yesterday and today ... I am definitely NOT the rower of the day today!

OUCH!

No rowing today, but I di XC ski 7.1 miles up at Minnewaska State Park. Stunning vistas-probably 40-50 mile view-saw the Hudson Highlands, Berkshire Mountains, and Catskill High Peaks and everything inbetween. Clear blue skies, perfecly groomed trails, amazing areas.
