Must be a completely different feel to attend and participate in a regatta of around 75 competitors.
My first and only regatta had at least 1000 in Atlanta, or it certainly seemd like it.
Some of the data is somewhat interesting, seeing how the masters rowers approached their races.
Several got off to a somewhat faster start and slowing for the next two 500m. Most ended with a faster last 500m.
That describes the record setter Van Beuren,though his last 500m was not faster.
Several rowed pretty much even splits with a couple speeding at the end. Some got slower each 500m.
I don't think there was any overall trend, although I would not say that there were any clearly negative split rowers.
