Meh. It would take three and a half of him just to run my blow-dryer. ;)

Henrik is spoken about in hushed tones in the erging crowd. They assume he's impervious to pain. The "recovery" part of the stroke is generally used not only to recover position, but to recover from the exertion of the last stroke. But Henrik is like a perpetual motion machine - he flows right into the next stroke with very little recovery time.
I also noticed in this vid that he does 2 things to lengthen his stroke - comes down with the handle on the recovery, then lifts up to his upper chest on the stroke. (In a boat, you'd pull straight back, end up your stroke at the top of your stomach, before you'd put your hands down, then forward.) "Up" is longer, "to the chest" is further back - this is part of what helps him make up for his lightweight status.
I could become a lightweight too if I could part with my lower body.

They need to come up with a third weight class; a lightweight, a heavyweight and then a class "for the rest of us". (Speaking for myself only of course; I'm sure you all have the physiques of olympic rowers). I'm thinking "Sumo Weight".

You can see the Team Standings here, which also displays meters... There's a link to this page off your Online Logbook and also from the VTC challenge page.

Use Lisa's link to see our team totals.
I just checked the team totals, and we had about 8,694K. Last night was 87.1% (27/31 days) of the way to the end of the VTC, tonight will be 90.3% (28d/31d). So, we're about 87% (8,694K/10,000K) of the way to 10MM, when we need to be more like 89% there.
Confusing enough?

This challenge we had more people doing massive numbers, but a lower percent hit 100K (we had over half of the team over 100K last time). Like in economies, it's the "middle class" that floats them or sinks them...

OK, now to plan ahead a little. The Blackburn Challenge is now set for July 20th. Anyone care to join me?? Almost any boat can enter-kayaks, stand up paddleboards, dories, etc. Great race and a big party after-it doesn't get much better than that! http://www.blackburnchallenge.com/Blackburn.html

Heat sheets were just posted on RegattaCentral for Saturday's SWEAT Indoor Regatta in Dallas. In total, there are 552 entires from 20 clubs across 5 different states.

I'm on the second erg for Mens Masters 1x (30-39). There are four of us that registered early. The guy on the first erg has won the category 5 years straight with a best time of 6:29.8. The other two guys either posted slower times than me or didn't provide their 2k times when they registred.
