Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Thanks for asking, Lisa. After taking the weekend off, it feels a little better. I work from home, so I get up, go over to the rower and row a bit, then get back to work. Rather than just rowing for a full hour straight as I usually do. Very slow rowing, but I would go stir crazy if I didn't do something. And it is too cold to do something outdoors. I hope you are feeling better!damselfly wrote:

Woah. Shame faced confession day.
I guess my model E has done about 4MM now. So today, I finally decided to oil the chain.
Wow! Who knew they were actually serious about that?

Yeah, gets dirty! What I'd like to know is what the little black goopy bumps are that form on the rail and how to prevent them. I'm a pretty good housekeeper -- what is up with that!?JonathanRyan wrote:Woah. Shame faced confession day.

Ah that one I do know.
It comes from the roller (no, I don't know why it's black not white). I guess it's some kind of silicone. You can remove it easily with furniture polish

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I forgot to upload my logcard last night so I guess my numbers for today will be a bit inflated. I still don't feel well. The rumor at the office is that we have parainfluenza (HPIV). It is like a mild flu, which I thought we used to call a cold.damselfly wrote:Andy I - 3,905 Unbroken streak since Christmas!
I think the Internet is like McDonald's for your brain. It is fast, cheap, and convenient. It is also full of odds and ends, rubbish, and industrial castoffs.
Thanks to WebMD we can give the common cold a fancy name. We can strut around with our sad faces on and say, "Look at me! I'm special! I don't have a cold, I have HPIV!"
"What!?!?! What is that? Are you okay?", asks a previously uninterested passerby; a potential attendee to your impromptu pity party.
Does that change anything about the treatment? Dude, you have a cold. Take the day off work and get some rest.
Take Twitter for example. It is a mix of teenagers and celebrities talking without listening. The blinking VCR generations aren’t even online unless you count Farmville on Facebook. That (Facebook) is like a giant high school reunion. We all know that reunions are like reading a tabloid, but you get to be in one of the articles. Your life was just fine before you read that refugee from the dead tree media in the checkout stand at Target. Your life will resume its normal course once those strangers filter back out of your activity stream.
Desperate job seekers and salesman are polluting LinkedIn (a site I genuinely like) and Amazon somehow knows I switched from boxers to boxerbriefs (a word not even in my dictionary, but an item I can’t believe took so long to invent). Google knows I’m typing this and might possibly start displaying ads about assault rifles, anxiety medications, or that new doomsday show on TV.
I hope you enjoyed reading my rant as much as I enjoyed writing it. I love the Internet. I think it is the users that I have a problem with.
-Andy

note: that is bobby thatcher, olympic rower from great britain. the background looks shabby, but the technique advice is a-1.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Those bumps on the rail are actually plastic dust that comes off the wheels from all the friction. I use clorox wipes every time I get done. Keeps the rail nice and clean. I also wipe the rollers each time-basically,hold the clorox wipe to the wheel and roll it back and forth once or twice. What I'd like to know is what the little black goopy bumps are that form on the rail and how to prevent them. I'm a pretty good housekeeper -- what is up with that!?
And when it comes to vanilla ice cream and maple syrup, caving in is a very honorable way to get it-this coming from a guy who gets his syrup by the gallon. Maple syrup from the Catskill Mountains is the VERY best,by the way, no need to go to Canada
