I just mis-clicked, and opened page 1, instead of page 938 ... wow, what a difference 937 pages make ... it was a brief paddle down memory lane, for sure!

AJ, my caricature is awesome. Thanks a lot. This team is incredible. I actually look forward to rowing and feel like I have let the team down when I haven't rowed many meters. Congrats to everyone who have achieved their goals and to all who haven't quite made it, keep on pulling that chain. I know you can do it.

My sentiments EXACTLY. I don't even really know anyone here (yet), but still feel like I should be putting in more meters for the team :D Glad to see that we were able to put some sizeable distance between us and HAVK after dropping to 4th last week.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 1.20.13

Post by Kona2 » January 21st, 2013, 3:14 pm

Image Day 21 or 22 of 31 ....still one-third of the Challenge left !

Team Standings Thank you for rowing with us !!!
Pos. Team Team Type Total Event Meters Team Members Average Meters
1 Age Without Limits Virtual Club 34,281,503 323 106,135
2 Community Rowing, Inc On-Water Club 19,949,581 453 44,039

4 HAVK Mladost On-Water Club 13,372,219 209 63,982
5 Free Spirits Virtual Club 12,645,405 152 83,193

Just a quick observation about our rankings and HAVK competitors....they have not updated their team totals in four days. Some teams have the strategy of an update once a week, which really provides very little time for a competitor to rally the erg meters at the end of the competition. This can either take the wind out of our sails (kind of like a 70 yard last minute pass), or the lurking team can be unmasked, providing a clue of what response your team needs to meet this predicted finish. Bwaaaa ah ah (evil laugh) as Minnie would say. I put together a simple chart a year or so ago that helps decipher where the teams are truly tracking when updates are infrequent. To use the chart, you drop down to the line that equals the day of the Challenge, then go across until you locate the total team meters recorded for that day. Look up to the top of the column, and you will see what finishing millions are predicted (and, yes - it's imperfect since it assumes a constant rate of acceleration). HAVK's last update of 13.3 MM can be found in the purple highlighted line from day 17 data. Our current data is actually a reflection of yesterday's day 20 data, and I have highlighted that set in yellow. If you look to see where our numbers fall, you will see that HAVK is actually projected to be slightly ahead of us in terms of their finishing position at about 24.5 million meters. I know. Number geek. Can't help it. The thing is, though, we have a lot of time left in this Challenge to CHANGE that finishing total. Grab an oar !!!!

Image

Season meters as of 264/365 = 125,082,133 m

Total meters on the day = 1,173,091 m

Oars in space (participation) = 35 percent

Another adventurer who says "you want to go where?" as he hops aboard for the lunar journey! As always, our journeys are long and made much more enjoyable with the addition of teammates! We wish you many good rowing sessions and lots of camaraderie!!
