Yes, well, about that ... I watched Backwards last night while I was on the erg. I'm wondering what you on-water rowers thought about that movie ... Karyn, did you see it? Did the failure-to-launch egocentric girl/woman newbie coach ever actually coach the eight, or just the two? I needed an adult beverage to get over her, and this banal dramedy.

I am sure that Challenge team member Kathryn A probably wonders just what she's gotten into with canoes and oars all about....that's what we Lunies do! Congratulations on getting through the first 100K and claiming your canoe !!

AJ 's somehow found time to get to the 100K milestone and grab a canoe of his own ! This team's artwork has kept him quite busy! Thanks for making this an even MORE fun Challenge than it started out to be!

Bicycle helmets come in handy while navigating some stretches of the Moon River...especially if you encounter any rock-infested rapids.....whoop, whoop and hooyah for Challenge team member Dan Rhoden! He's completed 200K and has an oar! Well rowed!

There's nothing like a challenge within a Challenge to add on the meters! Woohoo and hooyah! Congratulations, Minnie, on achieving a TWO million meter rowing season! We wish you many, MANY more!!

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 1.18.13

Post by Kona2 » January 19th, 2013, 12:32 pm

Image Day 19 or 20 of 31....wowzer...what galaxy are we in...look at all the moons!

Four "official distance" half marathons, SEVEN half moons, and TWO full moons...whoa...better check the astrogation computer to see if we've gone off course....I was pretty sure we still had the Earth in sight...great galloping galaxies...this team had their Wheaties yesterday! Great to see SO MANY on their final approach down the runway towards some major milestones - Ron and bg are both really close to FIVE million, and David A, Ronnie and Danno are all close to THREE million. And Tony throws in an ImageImageImageImage instead of the usual ImageImageImageImage m since he likes to be a bit unpredictable (and because we needed some extra meters!). And so it was that we pulled back into third place. No time for complacency though, because HAVK will be right there with us. Keep the erg chains moving!

Meanwhile, Jeff Goon has joined the team (spelling out the full name because we already have a Jeff G and a Jeff P). Welcome! We wish you many good rowing sessions! And Tim G has posted a team profile photo - and updated his background story there. Great ! Might have taken a few years to get to the 10 MM, Tim, but you're sure pulling those meters more quickly these days!

I think my profile pic has them, my little forum pic doesn't--but that's a few years old and now I wear them all the time. Funny, I just got new ones and ALMOST got red ones, kinda wish I had, but now I can have them in my rowing virtual reality!

The full armoonda graphic is WONDERFUL and I can't tell you how many friends I've shown your graphics to, pointing out how insanely motivating they are. And now, off to row....! Thank you again!

hey luna-tics! I wanted to say a really heartfelt thank you for all the inspiration. I just did my VERY FIRST half marathon and, while I was pretty slow, I finished it! I'm so amazed at what our team is doing, and the challenges people have overcome to reach their goals. I've been dealing with arthritis and torn cartilage in both wrists and really didn't think, when I got back to rowing for the holiday challenge, that I'd have much luck--I've come much farther than I ever thought I could and this forum has been a big part of that. So--thank you!

And for me it was two and a half episodes of the old BBC mystery series, Albert Campion, that got me through. Nothing like the distraction of a good English murder mystery.....
