Excellent. I think this merits a little article in the C2 quarterly newsletter!
Hold off --- Stop the presses! I ain't done breaking records. Ha Ha :D  :D

I remedied the fly wheel engagement issue. I snuggled a can of silicone spray in between the engine block and turbo charger to heat it up. After a half an hour I took it out and thoroughly sprayed the flywheel gear assembly with HOT silicone and began rowing. It worked great! Not one malfunction during my 5k row at minus four (-4) degrees. So who knows what the bottom really is. Next time in Wyoming I'll try it at minus 10.

Note of Caution:About half way through the 5k I removed my skull cap due to excessive heating . 5 minutes or so later the tops of my ears began to burn signifying the early stages of frost bite. Warning - Rowing can be hazardous to your health. :o

If y'all had to live in that little box you might need a little fix every now and then too. And let me guess... I bet y'all drink coffee.

Joke is on you, Mr. Smiles :) . I only drink coffee before a 2k test. I'd probably do more drugs before a PR attempt if they were legal and didn't kill me.
I stopped caffeinated drinks when I started training. There's zero difference. Life is unchanged. I just saw a challenge and went for it. I think my cardiologist prefers me this way and I see no reason to go back.

Whew! After a week of fever, cough, stuffy nose and laying on the couch, I finally got back on the erg and did a very slow 5k.
At least its a start! I've got a long way to go to get my goal, but glad to be back in the boat!
Glad to see some new team members and some impressive Polar bear rows! Wow!

In Siberia, they found that the best lubricant to keep the machines going in sub-zero temps was vodka! And it also tastes way better than hot silicone!

I'm off to the Holy Land for the first time in almost 20 years. I just looked at my passport, which is 9 years old, and it has zero stamps in it! I think the furthest I've gone is Canada in that time.
My in-laws turn 90 this year (mom-in-law last November, pop-in-law in April), so all the children & their spouses are gathering to celebrate. I also get to see my son, who's studying in Jerusalem.

I got one last, good row in, but that'll have to last me more than a week because the erg locator shows zilch in Jerusalem, 7 in all of Israel. Maybe I'll travel to Tel Aviv to do an HM or something... Either way, I'll have to row like crazy when I return next Tuesday to try to get close to my 300K goal for Janvier.

I think we have a good chance to hit 10 mil in the VTC, but we'd have to nudge up the pace just a bit. This may just show us what we're made of...

I'll miss all of you, will try to keep up with the Team goings-on on my Kindle Fire at some WiFi hot spot...

Did they apply the vodka to the ergs or to the ergers?

Hi Lisa: please change my challenge goal to 150k; while the spirit is willing, the butt is weak.

Actually, or should I say additionally--and more embarrasing--I hurt my wrist quilting, of all things, proving that too much of anything, however innocent and sedentary, can be a BAD thing. I'll try my hand at it again today ... no pun intended. Truly. I'll flit off now  ...

...but not before saying how much I've enjoyed catching up the posts for the last week; what a diverse bunch we are. Yay TimbukTOO!
