It came from an old Concept2 advertisement. Who knows maybe they borrowed it from CRASHB or maybe vice versa.

...off to another topic...

I rowed 10,000 meters a few miles from the Telluride,CO airport this morning --- 9078 feet. Here are some pics on the way to pick up my load...Who says rowing is boring ???

I'll bet rowing at 9000 ft altitude is a heck of a lot harder than rowing down near the sea-level that I am at! is there even any oxygen up there!?!

Mike already answered this one: He doesn't operate on oxygen, he operates on diesel fumes!

Greetings,

Dropping in to seek motivational support in 2013. I have a beautiful Concept2 here in my office that has become a perfect place to hang towels and collect dust.

Getting into one of January 2013 teams may do the trick.

May I ask you for some guildance on how I go about finding a team?

Austin

On the personal goals front: I just took a gander at my logbook for the first time in a while (it's depressing to look at it when you can't row!). It's at a rather symmetrical number: 983,983 (life, not season!)

Hmm...16,017 meters...and a friend who just sent me a text message saying "hey, want to do a one hour row tonight?". Coincidence?

Let's see. 16017/500 = 32.034. 3600/32.034 = 112.38 seconds per 500, or a pace of 1:52.4 to hit 1M meters tonight. Hey Izz...does that fit with the "take it easy" approach??

What? You just found one! TimbukTOO for an affiliation, and TimbukTwo for the team!

No need to wait for another challenge, hop on board and just start rowing with the folks here. It's a <reasonably> friendly group and we promise to keep you well motivated with or without challenges. We have hummingbirds to flit around your head, a blacksmith to nail you to your erg, a pirate or two (we know they're pirates because they arrrrghh), and even some normal people. I'm not any of the above by the way...

Jump on in the boat, Austin!! We'd love to have you aboard!! C2 makes it ridiculously hard to figure out how to sign up, but here's what you do: Go to your Edit Profile page, and scroll down to the section entitled "Affiliation". Enter TimBukToo and we should get selected in the drop-list. Ignore all the credit card nonsense below (unless you're under 13!), and click Update Profile. Then you should appear on our Affiliation Page. Welcome aboard!

Be careful, Glen-with-one-n. We don't want you losing another one and ending up as "Gle". And congratulations in advance on a lifetime MILLION!!! Woot!
