Remember, while there IS an "I" in "team", it takes a real stretch to find it...

Thanks for being so nice about it! I was embarassed for the last few years that I hadn't switched the tape recorder up my nose for a CD player, but I was afraid I would have to deviate my septum to fit it. However, I WAS able to upgrade the tape recorder to now play 42 national anthems.
So, thanks for reminding me that tape recorders are WAY funnier than CD players!
(Sorry, gotta run to try to wake up my new parrot again. The clerk in the store assures me that the parrot is NOT dead!)

I think here would be a good place to mention that we now average over 500K per TimbukTOO team member! Great going, all!

Hey everybody!! I finally took some time to log my meters...PHEW! It has been awhile!

I also took a little time to look around on our team forum and discovered Lisa's recent 1M milestone! AWESOME! Congratulations, Lisa!

I have to get back in the habit of logging in here to check out the latest news. The Holiday Challenge is coming up, right? I'm looking forward to that again this year.

Have a great Monday, y'all!

Good to see our Urban Farmer and resident Professor back on the forum!! And thanks for your congratulations!

Also, yes, I've been meaning to post...

Hey Team!! The latest in the upcoming C2 challenges, the 2012 Holiday Challenge, is right around the corner!!

The Details

  • Row and/or ski 100,000 meters or 200,000 meters from November 22 to 11:59 p.m. ET December 24.
  • Support great causes with your meters! (See below)
  • You do not need to be on a team to participate! Log your individual meters.
  • Indoor rower and SkiErg meters only (no on water/on snow meters please). You can combine meters from each machine to reach the challenge goal.
  • Kid's Holiday Challenge allows kids (aged 16 and under) to participate at 50,000 meters.
  • Adaptive athletes can choose to participate at the 50k, 100k, or 200k levels.
  • Deadline for entering meters: January 4th.

Support Great Causes!

Each year, Concept2 selects several non-profit organizations and donates money to these organizations based on the meters completed during the Holiday Challenge. We present the list of charities in your logbook, and you select which one you'd like your efforts to benefit. This year we decided to offer a choice of charities that support a spectrum of options, including a charity that is working directly to support the victims of Hurricane Sandy. This year's choices are:

  • AmeriCares (supporting Hurricane Sandy relief efforts)
  • Natural Resource Defense Council
  • Doctors Without Borders
  • Vermont Land Trust

For every person who completes at least 100k during the challenge, Concept2 will donate $.02 for each kilometer (1000 meters) you accumulate. Once you get beyond 100k, we'll donate $.04 per kilometer. For kids and adaptive athletes, the $.04 rate takes effect at 50k. Every bit adds up: Last year, your efforts raised over $31,000 for disaster relief organizations!

I don't think we track meters for the individual challenges, but we'll keep an eye on you, Adit! But maybe we do. I can't remember. I'm old. Maybe Cap'n remembers.

I do think we tracked money raised for the challenge though.
