Nonathlon...
Well, Mike (aka Sammy Silverback), I think they missed my directive to tell you about the fabled Nonathlon, so here are a couple of past posts introducing it, and you can also search the team thread for nonathlon and read about it. Sounds like something right up your alley, or down your turnpike, or interstate, or whatever.

Haven't heard someone be this disappointed that they were going on vacation in a while...ronmardix wrote:Darn it!
I just passed 4000 meters/day average for the season, and Catherine and I are off on vacation for a week.
This will require some extra rowing when we get back.

Can I set my goal for next year's FTC?!?!?!?!
It looks like I fell 50k short of breaking the top 100. I took 4 days off and that proved to be the difference.
Now we get to sit back asnd wait for teams to submit late meters. I wouldn't be surprised if we get pushed from 8th to 10th.

FYI
Our very own David Welch rowed 142,087 meters during the last Skeleton Crew Challenge.
That's good for *roughly* 44.173431734317343173431734317343 snicker's bars.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
An outstanding final day for TimBukTWO in the 2013 Fall Team Challenge!! We made a huge effort and actually pulled ahead of the Sub7 team to take 7th place, with 7,913,672 meters!! But, as Andy says, there are a few days yet for people to report meters, and things could shift a bit. We're ahead of them by only 38k, so it's a narrow margin. But... If anyone still has meters to report, please post them soon!!
A nimble and nictitating 19 of 44 members (43%) logged 304,052 total meters Monday!
Congratulate yourselves for an excellent team effort! I want to send a shout-out to all our TimBukTWO rowers who are not affiliation members -- thank you for rowing with us! We appreciate your outstanding effort and your meters. And please consider joining up with our affiliation TimBukTOO so you can keep the fun going all year round!

This was my first team challenge - it was a lot of fun and there was a lot of team motivation through these emails! I'm already looking forward to the Skeleton Crew Challenge and the Holiday Challenge and trying to think of stretch goals! Congratulations alldamselfly wrote:

Great rowing everyone and a job very well done. That was some fantastic team effort and motivation.
And huge props for Lisa and izzz for pushing us along and keeping us up-to-date.

Good for you Ron and Catherine; I am envious!ronmardix wrote: On a train with Catherine heading to Montreal for some R&R.
Our family goes to Montreal, Quebec City and Ottowa periodically and it is beautiful up there in every season. We especially like the Old Montreal and Old Quebec.
I hope you have a great time!

Its all apart of the learning curve... 201.9% ???
Now that I know what I'm capable of I'll set a more appropriate goal next time. At the time I had no idea what I could do. But thanks to the Team members here at Timbuktoo I was driven to try a little harder. And in the end, it was much more than I thought possible. So thanks to you all for being an inspiration. There is no doubt that I WOULD NOT have done it with out you.
Note: I've read every little post that has come across this thread since i started. Even if you are not a Quatroux, Ron M, KevinJ,Izz, or conlejm -- just the fact that I know that you are there --- rowing--- is an inspiration. So keep posting and keep rowing, if not for you ---->then do it for me.

AARrrhh thar matey, Batten ye hatches and man ye oars - we've got some rowing to do with the skeleton crew!
See you on the gang plank...Aarhh!
