Hey, guys! I’m seeing only 27 people signed up for the Fall Challenge! Two measly days until it begins…
Welcome to new TimbukTWOers Dale Rykard, Warren Frink, Aditya Pande, Jeff Monty, Jodie James, Ron Mardix & Rob M. Four of you have already joined our year-round Affiliation TimbukTOO, the rest of you are welcome to!

Thanks to the 20 TimbukTOOians who signed up already. For everybody else, could you please sign up for the Fall Challenge, and see if we can get about 60, maybe get even closer to that elusive 10 million meter team goal.

(Despite the Jewish Holidays – Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur & Sukkoth – occurring this month, I’ll still push for that 300K mark for the Challenge personally!)

Congratulations! Time for a new T-shirt!
I usually only change my t-shirt every 3,000,000 meters!

I think 9/2 was my last day off. I'll take a break at the halfway point of the FTC.
I'm on the fence, but think I'm going to start the Wolverine Plan tomorrow. I could just do SS for all of the FTC, but perhaps it is time to start getting ready for my local CRASH-B satellite. I need to look good for the event because all eyes will be on me since I'll still be rowing after everyone else is finished.

Thanks for the laugh!

In the Cub Scout "Pinewood Derby", they award the overall slowest car the "Flat Tire" award, and I swear there is more excitement over winning that award than there is in having the fastest car. You should hear the kids cheer for the slowest car; it's deafening! Maybe Concept 2 should have a similar award.

Welcome to the team, TMike!! I'm glad you dusted off the old beast and are ready to row!! Don't go "overboard" on your first few rows though, we want you alive for the long haul!! Like you said, we have the rest of our lives to continue to make progress and do a little something better each day towards fitness and health. It's not about getting it all done TODAY!

I was pushing hard through 3000 meters on my way to 5000. But my inner Rocky had not yet emerged - and just when I thought that I may not make the 5000, I heard it, it was song 67 on my mp3 player...

da da dadada da da dadada... dah dahhh

...and I became...Rocky, and not just for a moment, I WAS ROCKY BALBOA for the last 2000 meters. My last 500 meter leg was a beast, it went something like this --> breath Rocky breath...2:30...2:20...2:15...2:10...breath Rocky, "you can do it" Rocky..2:05...1:59...last 100 meters...88...75...breath... 26...14...8...YO Adrian, I did it!!!! (oops, I mean Kristi, my wife)

5000 meters 2:28.0 pace
