Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I don't know if any of you out in cyber land are ever looking for on the water equipment, but I had some awesome service from Adirondack Rowinghttp://www.adirondackrowing.com/. I recently bought a used alden ocean shell, needed some better oars. They had none, but Pete Gallo (the owner) called around some of his clients, found a reasonable pair for me-in Canada-and he went and got them. The point of the story is, I went up to pick the oars up and the guy spent over an hour talking to me about rowing techniques-for the price I got the oars for, he couldn't have made much, but he still gave LOTS of free advice and help. Really nice to see "old school" service in this day and age. If anyone is looking for somewhere to go get some help, it's the place to go. The guy is a wealth of rowing knowledge. They do rowing schools also.

Three more Tooians have made their way to the Dog Days Honorboard! John, Keith, and Jim have joined David and Kyle in completing the challenge. Well done, everyone! I am hoping to be up there myself by day's end. Who else is going for it?!?!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
That dang extra meter came back to haunt me! It turns out that the Dog Days week [Wed - Tue] is different that the regular C2 week [Sun - Sat], and so last night I found myself with 48,999 meters for the Dog Day week ... had to go down and row 1,001 meters to get the prize! Then this morning I went ahead and rowed 7,999 meters to even it out, and so on. In a couple more days this will work itself out!damselfly wrote: Jim C - 12,001 Your speedo cable needs service...

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
So I hit the Hudson this A.M., and tried out some of the stuff I learned yesterday-what a difference. One of the thing that was suggested was to not "pull" myself back by the footstraps. When you pull yourself on the return you actually slow the boat down from the force of your return. So I slowed way down on the return, concentrated on the entry, stroke and getting the oars out of the water smoothly and ended up going way faster-. Sculling requires so much more finesse than my dory. In a work boat you just haul away and you go pretty good, but in a shell any little screw up really makes a big difference.

"Fell asleep"
No- that was 16 days on the bounce so I did just enough to complete dog days - and I took today off completely !!!!
1m for the end of the month then I think I will have a week on the cross trainer, I am sick of the sight of the C2 and a change may be as good as a rest but don't want to slip too badly on my 8k per day oh decisions decisions.

Afraid not. I felt like I needed a day off, but I don't feel like I had one. This was intervals - same today. No risk of boredom with those. Too tired to be bored.damselfly wrote:Andy I - 10,408 Two day total? Is the streak alive?
