New owner of Concept2_Where do I leave the handle?

Post by foxmoor » July 26th, 2012, 4:16 pm

I'm a happy new owner of a Model E Concept2 rower but I have a question about what to do with the handle when I'm done with my session. Do I leave it hooked up on the frame or do I return it all the way to the wheel? I read somewhere that if you leave it hooked up on the frame in the metal slot, this could eventually 'kill the balance' on the wheel. As a result, you should return the handle all the way to the flywheel when you're done. Anyone know the correct answer? Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Not that critical, my Model C was never returned to the cage and the bunge is still okay after 12 years.

It has lost some of the grunt to return the chain compared to my Model D, however these days I do leave the handle against the cage rather than in the holder in the frame as obviously it will help a little.

Does however pay to put the handle in the holder before getting on the Erg as it's a bit of a stretch to retreive the handle when your not warmed up.

From the manual:
NOTE: It is best to let the handle rest against
the fan cage rather than in the handle hooks
when the machine is not in constant use. (i.e.
overnight, between workouts). This will prolong
the life of the shock cord.
