Sorry to hear about your illness. This is the first time I've been sick since I started rowing (May/June 2011). I credit rowing (and maybe less so those Emergen-C drinks I've been mixing) with keeping me healthy. I might change my tune if those Emergen-C folks would pony up a sponsorship of Team Timbuktoo.Izzzmeister wrote:Actually, I've had a cold since last Monday. I don't think I caught it over the Internet from you, tho. I think I got it from doing a season's best 10K in the morning, then a season's best hour in the afternoon. While exercise improves the immune system, overexercising lowers it (in rats for sure), which left me vulnerable to ever-present bugs like rhinoviruses.
So no, I'm not surprised a HM didn't "cure" you! You can still exercise tho, just not all-out and not for too long.
I don't know much about any rat or rhinoceros (I think you spelled it wrong Wikipedia shows this to be the correct spelling). What I do know is that the interwebs is a dirty place. I've seen some things on here that you can't un-see. I go through an elaborate purification ceremony after each session on the computer. It involves lots of eyewash and a neti pot.
I do plan to launch an impressive self-improvement program complete with before and after pictures. I’m thinking of calling it the Belly Losing Ankle Cracking Knee Sizzling Mission In Total Humiliation Plan. Let's call it the Blacksmith Plan for short.
It is time to ratchet things up a notch, complete a 100k, and squeeze into a rowing uni for 2013.
