Hi Lisa
Sunshine??!!! this is the Isle of Man the rain just gets warmer in summer.
Hit an average of 8000 per day today, not looking forward to HM tomorrow but then 3 days without a C2 so will have to start playing catch up again on Sunday.
Got a week vacation looming so think I might have to settle for a lower average metreage but don't really want to fall off the 7500 board.
I admire/ envy the hard men with double my metres and no sign of slowing.

Why is 8000 per day important? Is that a goal you set yourself?tobyj1 wrote:Hit an average of 8000 per day today, not looking forward to HM tomorrow but then 3 days without a C2 so will have to start playing catch up again on Sunday.
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Hi Ronmardix
Yeah just a personal target- no real signifigance, started off aiming at 5k (March madness) realistically I will never make the time available to average 10k per day, the 8k is a nice round figure and keeps me in the top 10% so I have adopted it as my target.
The challenge board has 5, 7.5 and 10 categories- didn't fancy being last man in the 7.5 so set a target above.
This early in the season even one day off seems to knock a big hole but I guess as more days pass it is less damaging ( maths was never my strong suit)

Is the daily average seasonal? Does it zero out in May?
8k keeps you in the top 10% of what?
There is a daily average challenge board?
I am intrigued because something like this would be a great incentive for me.
I appreciate the information.

Hi Ron:
If you go to the Challenges page, ( here: http://log.concept2.com/log_challenges.asp ) you'll see a link for the Annual Meters Honor Board. This is what Keith was talking about.
On the History tab ( here: http://log.concept2.com/log_last.asp ), you'll find the following statistics for the past 2012 rowing season:
People logging meters in the 2012 ranking season: 44,058
Number of people logging 10M+ meters: 5
Number of people logging 5M+ meters: 60
Number of people logging 1M+ meters: 2,610
So you can see that rowing 1 million meters puts you in the top 6% (2,610 out of 44,058)

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Thanks for answering, Jim... I was trying to find that d*&m board!!! I swear, it is SOOOOO hard to find information on the C2 site. And it shouldn't be!!
So Ron, when you're in your online logbook, click Challenges at the top, and the top left box on that page is Annual Meters Board. And there's me on the last page of the 5k+ section. Woo-hoo!!!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
And Ron, I don't know if you were looking to set up a half marathon, but that's one of those things you would set up in advance on the PM, so the distance is correct. Mine doesn't have the HM as a pre-set workout (tho it does have the marathon -- who do they think I am!?!? ), so you would have to set it up as "New Workout", "Single Distance" and enter 21097 as the meterage. If the piece is not the exact distance you can't rank it and it just "doesn't count" as a half-marathon.
A caution tho, when you do this, the PM will count down the meters when you row, but count up the time without stopping even if you stop rowing. So water and potty breaks count against you timewise. Also, VERY IMPORTANT... if you leave the PM unattended (or stop rowing) long enough it will go to sleep and -- poof!! -- there goes your row into the ether. You can avoid this last little pitfall by (1) pulling the handle occasionally, (2) pressing various display buttons on the PM, or (3) plugging your PM's USB cable into your computer or other USB-charging device. (I use the charger thingie that came with an iPhone accessory).

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Great info, thank you. I will have to look into this. I started about 10 days ago, so my guess is that I am a little behind; I haven't quite reached the 1 million mark yet - maybe by next weekCONLEJM wrote:Hi Ron:

Thank you for this. Actually, that 21,098 wasn't in one session it was a total for 4 sessions throughout the day. Tomorrow I go for a true half, so I will be sure to set it up as you recommend.damselfly wrote:And Ron, I don't know if you were looking to set up a half marathon, but that's one of those things you would set up in advance on the PM, so the distance is correct. Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Good luck!! I'm going for it too! The first one I did this year I was the only one on the boards with one (in my gender/age group). Now I'm 7th of 8!! Maybe I can improve my standing tomorrow if I hustle.ronmardix wrote:Thank you for this. Actually, that 21,098 wasn't in one session it was a total for 4 sessions throughout the day.
