The 28k is 2 days. Nice rattler. I had one of those parked in front of the shop last year. They're a protected species in N.Y. state. I cam out of the shop-almost stepped on it. Not too much bothers me, but that sure did.

[quote="Izzzmeister"]All hands on deck, keeping us in a solid 9th Place! 11 of 35 members (31%) logged 125,133 total meters Tuesday

Kyle J - 25,899 Huge row!

That was a two day total. Really didn't feel like a red entry effort :)

So that rattler is about one continent away from my house? Close enough.

I need to stress that the picture is not one I took, just one I found of the western diamondback... I wasn't about to ask him to pose!!

And Kyle, The Blacksmith is a lot nearer to you and he's got rattlers, so don't rest too easy!!

This was sitting above as we were "wife & I" were sitting in some shade eating our lunch as we were kayaking down a river here in Texas. We didn't notice until some one coming by mentioned that we should move on...

Scary stuff! To the best of my knowledge rattlers don't live around here in NH, but we are not far from NY, so I am probably wrong.

In the last few years we've seen (in our neighborhood) black bear, coyote, moose, bobcat, and plenty of harmless animals like deer, foxes, porcupine, turkey, etc.

Rowing indoors seems like a safe hobby!

From what I understand it was a Banded Water snake a cousin of the water moccasin, not the poison kind but can be very aggressive. based on the length of it being curled up it was at the very least 3 1/2 feet long.

Also I grew up in Mass, I know the rattlesnake up in NH is the Timber rattlesnake rarely seen. I myself do not like to be round snakes, so I try to keep my distance....

Damselfly,

thanks for the support: I set myself a challenge to Erg 100K in 5 days. I managed it, even though I now feel like my body is broken!

And remember, coming up this week is the Summer Solstice!! No need to trek all the way to Stonehenge to celebrate, however... Just row or ski 21,000 meters on Wednesday, June 20!! Add just 97 meters more and do a half marathon!

See all the details on C2's Symmer Solstice Challenge page.

One of my goals for the year is to average 10K meters per day. Since I take weekends off from rowing, I need to accumulate 70K meters through the week, and then I try to add some meters in case I need to take a day off. So I shoot for 80K meters per week, or 16K meters per weekday.

I'm just a little bit detail oriented, is all.

Sorry I bailed early this week, but it wasn't because I was rattled...
I improved my SB (season's best) in the HM by .6 of one second. Considering that I took about 82 minutes, that's microscopic. Oh well, there's always next week...
(Rowed Sunday because I'm traveling to NY for a nephew's wedding tomorrow. Did a fast 10K - about 37:40 - and a pretty fast half-hour - 8,007m. Then, I tried a 500m, but was too tired to break 1:40. I guess there's always Tuesday night...)
