Thanks. The Challenge is why I bought my Erg. I don't really care where I place, I just want to finish. It's kind of like a marathon for us water freaks.

Thanks for sending that along. I replied with my findings although I have no idea how the negative entry appeared! I upload through the C2Log program but I also have a couple of phone apps that I use to check on recent rows when I'm at the gym. It's possible one of them went haywire in some fashion but the online log looks completely normal.

Thanks again,
Lee
OK, Lee, I have changed the layout handling and you will see your water meters added in to today's (Monday's) totals. You're the only one reporting water meters -- good for you! :D

Lee is the only one rowing on the water because Lee is the only one that will go out in public wearing a uni! I'm a good looking fella, but I'm not "uni good".

Question/problem with the C2 monitor.

I set up a workout with 10 x 500 meter intervals. At the end of the workout I registered only 4500 meters total. I'm no mathematician but isn't 500 meters x 10 equal to 5000 meters?

I looked on the LogCard and sure enough it shows the times for all 10 intervals but with only 4500 meters total for the workout.

Also, is there any way for me to see the interval breakdown on the C2 Web site? It only shows the - incorrect - total of 4500. I would like to rank one of the 500 m intervals.

What am I missing?

I havent' set up intervals for a while, but I think the monitor doesn't count the meters in the rest part of the interval... is that it? That would mean you had 10 * 450 work intervals and 10 * 50 rests.

But others can correct/verify...

Not sure that's the problem, though I may have misunderstood what to do. I set it up with 0 rest in between 10 intervals.

I don't do intervals either, but wouldn't 10 500 meter intervals with no rest be the same as 1 5000 meter row? Which is on the standard list of times/distances built into the PM3 menu. Maybe I am missing something.

Ha, don't I wish that was the truth! All my OTW meters came from the Beginning Rowing class I took at University of California Santa Cruz. They let community members join if there is enough space (I was the only non college age student in the class this spring). So in the interest of disclosure I'll point out that I was the funky old man wearing a brimmed sun hat, surfing booties (keeping the feet warm), and basketball goggles (as to not lose my glasses). Far from the svelte uni wearing rower in my minds eye.

I did get to enjoy some wonderful time out on the beautiful Monterey Bay though so the strange looks were decidedly worthwhile. :D

Ron, this is an Art, not a Science - except for the Art part... I try to keep it simple & readable, and give kudos to those that deserve a special "shout out" - either for rowing a piece that's longer or faster than their usual, or for getting back on their rower after a challenging period of time, etc. Virtually all my normal posts are done in primary colors, and red is a color that most stands out.
(If you get 3 of your entries in red in one week, you get to sew a red "A" on your clothes! Or not...)

In the future, just set up a 5K, and ask it to give you split times for every 500m. Intervals are for bursts of speed that you need time to rest up from...
The only thing I can think of is that you didn't do the full, full 500m the last time, so it didn't record it. Or you may have stopped the monitor before it got to officially record the final interval. I've had where it didn't record rows because I stopped the row while the meters were still moving. Now, I just wait a few seconds after I stop rowing before setting my PM3 back.

I used to row backwards, but it always sounded like my flywheel was saying, "Paul is a dead man, miss him..." I stopped rowing backwards, so I wouldn't have to burn my flywheel.

Now there's an idea-change the name to the Blacksmith's Challenge, and everyone must put an anvil in the boat :)
The only problem is my small anvil is 225 lbs. Might be a problem.
