How are you doing with this?

I'll defend the waterrower. They may not have a motivation program like C2, but their machines are great. I’ll admit that it can be hard to share a waterrower between users because changing resistance (water levels) takes a few minutes. Comparing times between different rowers is also less precise than comparisons between different rowers on Concept2s. The waterrower is quieter, better looking, and I find them to be very comfortable for long rows. If I was in the market for a rower today it would come down to how much value I get out of this site. That would be it.

No need to defend the WaterRower. I think it's an absolutely beautiful machine - well designed, sturdy, quiet, beautiful to look at. I'd compare it to an Apple computer.

Here is the problem, the monitor on it went bad, or perhaps it was the electronics from the water tank to the monitor, I'm not sure, and neither were the tech support people on the phone. They sent me parts which didn't solve the problem, then more parts which still didn't solve the problem. The design of the electronics and the monitor really isn't that great. Because of the water tank, they had to create some fairly complicated mechanisms for measurement. I couldn't get the darned thing to align, or to fit, or something. Finally I gave up and rowed with no monitor - it was either that or bring it to someone to fix. Can you imagine trying to lug this thing around to fix? Not convenient.

Finally, we just decided to give the WaterRower to a friend who wanted it and to get a new C2.

I have to say, too, that I am finding that the C2 is a much better rower than the WaterRower we were using.

As long as Catherine is in the next room ready to whip you into submission, I don't worry much about you getting out of hand...
 Thanks for your vote of confidence, Izzz, however, when the Oarsman wants to misbehave, nothing, or no one stands in his way!

Beats me! I did get closer to 200k though so it must be something transitory. I will go through and check the online log against my card though.

Out of curiosity, why are some entries in red? Does red signify something?

Nothing earth-shaking... Our Cap'n just likes to call out some achievements, trends, or make special note of "good stuff" both from new rowers and old deck hands. Just welcomes, kudos, and/or atta-peeps.

("Atta-peeps" is the gender-neutral form of "atta-boy"... )

Thanks for sending that along. I replied with my findings although I have no idea how the negative entry appeared! I upload through the C2Log program but I also have a couple of phone apps that I use to check on recent rows when I'm at the gym. It's possible one of them went haywire in some fashion but the online log looks completely normal.

Thanks again,
Lee
