I'll Have Another wins again...the second leg of the Triple Crown. A wise man (and teammate) told me that the best horse doesn't always win the race. There is something about this horse that makes me a fan. Maybe it's the underdog role that I'll Have Another has played in the last two races. I seriously think that this horse and its jockey didn't believe that they weren't supposed to win...and so it happened. We already know that I'll Have Another likes Roses (Derby garlands are Roses), and Black-Eyed Susans (Preakness garlands are Black-eyed Susans)...we'll see if Carnations are appealing (Belmont garlands are Carnations). Fun stuff.
Meanwhile, we have an opportunity REALLY soon to hit a milestone full of number eights. We are very close to 8,888,888 m ... although Marie has already started celebrating that milestone with her posting today of 6,888 m. Sam and Cathie decided to do dual half marathons...woohoo! Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Just want to give you a heads up on my weird erg numbers. My coach asked for a 1k time trial piece. I did one the other day, but that was after rowing in the morning and working out on an elliptical machine at the gym for a 1/2 hour. I thought I could do better, so I did another today (plus a 10 min. warm up and 5 min. cool down).
When I ended my piece on Thurs. at the gym I told myself, "That's for you One-a-day-Rae". I hadn't dedicated a piece to her in awhile.
Others are my inspiration. Thank you to all my Lunatic (and O.D.) friends old, new, and no longer with us. You do keep me motivated and inspire me to challenge myself.

Thank you, Karyn, that made my heart glad. The thought of my 80-something year old mom, sitting down to row her "1K a day" ... they all added up! Good memories.kgallagher wrote: When I ended my piece on Thurs. at the gym I told myself, "That's for you One-a-day-Rae". I hadn't dedicated a piece to her in awhile. Others are my inspiration. Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Yogi it is for awhile I saw where he had recently celebrated his 87th bday.
Soon my favorite ballplayer of all time, Ron Santo will be posthumously (sp) inducted into the Hall of Fame. Very late, he deserved it decades ago.
Anyway- did something not too bright this morning. Rowed with 2 sweatshirts and sweatpants on. I never even wear long pants, even to church So needless to say, I overheated , lost a few pounds though. Will not do that again.
Not sure if I will do my walk today for Active Heroes. Have 20 miles in for Sat. and Sun. May 31 is the last day. Thanks to all who donated, not sure if I thanked you all on the website.
Go Luna-tics, what a great start to this season.

Thanks Richard, wish I was at Featherweight limit. Been on an ice cream binge, maybe due to the fact grandkids have been staying overnight for a week. Have to eat with them and then eat when they go to bed.
Funny story- Brayden, Allie, and I had watched a Bigfoot movie on TV and then we were getting ready for Ashlee's Girl Scout graduation. I took a quick shower and puy my dress shorts on. Went to look for a nice shirt and Brayden saw me shirtless. He said "Gramps, you are hairy all over like a Bigfoot. Are you part Bigfoot? " Couldn't stop laughing all day.

That's okay, Peter H! You were watching the numbers, too! Sometimes you have to act quickly when you start copying the numbers and realize that we are only 949 m away from 8,888,888 ...row 'em and enter them in the logbook...and take the picture..
