Yes, thank you, Ron, for standing in Jan's Astrogator flip-flops while she was gallivanting across the golf course. Very fun postings, lots of little hidden gems! Good stuff.

Whether we're looking for a complimentary R word, or a complementary R word, I'm thinking that any of these might work: Rollicking, Remarkable, Rebel (no, wait, wrong side of the war?), Rocking and, yes, of course, Radical. However, my personal fave is: Da Doo Ron Ron ... :) (So, maybe we should just call him, Bill!)

Da Do Ron Ron lyrics....(had to figure out where the just call him Bill part came in..) sung by The Crystals

I met him on a Monday and my heart stood still
Da do ron ron ron, da do ron ron
Somebody told me that his name was Bill
Da do ron ron ron, da do ron ron
Yeah, my heart stood still, yeah, his name was Bill
And when he walked me home, da do ron ron ron, da do
ron ron
I know what he was thinking when he caught my eye
Da do ron ron ron, da do ron ron
He looked so quiet but, my oh my
Da do ron ron ron, da do ron ron
Yeah, he caught my eye, yeah but my oh my
And when he walked me home, da do ron ron ron, da do

From Wiki Amazon: One of the defining girl groups of the early 60s, The Crystals whose members came from different sections of Brooklyn were the link between the simpler doo-wop harmonies of the 50s and the sophisticated look and sound of pop divas like the Supremes. They are the group that are credited with first putting the Philles label on the pop map.
Fifty years ago, legendary producer Phil Spector established his own record label Philles, and a new sound began to ring out of radio speakers across America. The sound Spector created lush, resonant, and dramatic, blending the sentimental swoon of string sections with the excitement of rock and roll was so different, so instantly recognizable, it earned its own name: The Wall of Sound. Through the 1960s, with songs like Be My Baby, Then He Kissed Me, Walking in the Rain, and Da Doo Ron Ron, he ruled the pop charts and made artists like Darlene Love, The Crystals and The Ronettes household names.

"Welcome back to Karyn G, Sarah, Michelle, Elton and Gina! Great to see you on the roster this AM."

You don't really need to welcome me back. I'm a Luna-tic and as you said, once a Lunatic, always a Lunatic. Currently, my on the water team is trying to push for better fitness by doing regular erg pieces. This means you may see erg scores from me weekly during my on the water season which is unusual for me. (Once on the water, I don't want to waste a morning hanging out inside rowing on my erg.)

Definitely unusual for you to be logging erg meters at this time in the on the water season! Caught me totally by surprise. :D Thanks for sharing what your team is doing - hope you have a spectacular on the water season.

Since Kona asked:

Update on children's Ages: *and kids club milestones).

Orion is 11 and completed all the kids pins a couple years ago. Somehow 1,000,000 seems a long way away to him. Many of his meters were rowed on a model b
Anais will be 9 on Monday, and has completed the 5,000 and 10,000 pin
Elias is 7 and has completed the 5,000 and 10,000 pin and really wants the 20,000 one
Akira is 5 and does not quite know how to count to 5000 yet
Adian is 20 months and sort of rows arms only and believes in using the erg as a piece of playground equipment
I turned 43 last week and am working towards 4,000,000 computer recorded meters
Debbie is 46 and has not quite discovered the joy of rowing and reaching numeric milestones

Also, it is great to see some many new members of our team since I was last really active, Welcome.

There are many things worth celebrating ... and yesterday's return of the cows into the open space behind my home was a woohoo moment. It meant that there was a delay in the project to develop the land, and even if only for a short time...the cows were back. I'd heard the clicking sound that accompanies the powering up of the electric fence (designed to keep the hungry bovines out of unfenced yards) just a day or two before. I hadn't seen the cows on the hills until yesterday. The best moment was early in the morning when I let my two Goldens out and they spotted the cows. Much delighted barking and fence running. There are always some great pictures when nose of Golden is next to nose of calf through the fence...those are the good Discovery Channel moments.

Image By now, you've realized that this is a bunny trail of the mind episode. I didn't know I was going there, but here it is. Discovery Channel is a network with shows about science, geography, and all those kinds of things. Somehow, though, every time I turn that particular channel on there is always a lion eating a zebra or some other food chain event. I refer to urban wildlife adventures as Discovery Channel moments - and generally hope that it is only something like a fox or a coyote carrying off a rabbit. Yesterday, it was a snake. I knew that snakes were capable of climbing trees...it's just not something that I thought about too much. While I was working in the yard, my neighbor yelled that a snake was closing in on a bird nest full of still fuzzy feathered friends in one of his trees. Neighbor had tried to dislodge the snake with a rake. I ran over to see what was up ...and Discovery Channel moment was in progress. Snake had a baby bird. About 20 birds were dive-bombing the snake unsuccessfully. Neighbor and I tried to get snake out of the tree...and we weren't doing too well. Something about the potential that the snake would land on us was keeping us from giving it a real go. Out of the house comes the neighbor's wife...waving a can of hornet repellant. She sprayed that snake good with that aerosol...and snake dropped out of the tree. The most unlikely things work sometimes. Which brings me full circle on the bunny trail...as the open space gets developed, the urban wildlife and cow life have to coexist with the humans...

Season meters as of 16/365 = 6,987,379 m

Total meters on the day = 358,220 m

Good weekend to all Luna-tics wherever you are in the rowing universe.

Darn head-cold at present, more annoying than anything, weather gets a little cooler and I start falling to pieces! But must say we are getting glorious Autumn weather in Sydney.

Planning a couple of back-pack walks this weekend, ahead of a much longer walk in about three weeks. We are planning a walk through the Watagan Mountains to Newcastle in early June, should be around 90 klm and looking to do it non-stop in around 20 hours – well that is the plan anyway. So probably will be off the ERG this weekend...

And of course TomO lines up for Rugby tomorrow, inside centre, he’s like a little bulldog in the back-line, barking out the play, and nipping at the heels of the opposition (Yeah – we’re proud of him!) :)

Cheers, BBB :)
