David rowed one too, but in his reported meters yesterday, he was ONE STINKIN' METER SHORT of reporting a FM -- at 42,194 meters! David, if you read this, go edit your entry! That HAS to be wrong. If anyone deserves to be up on that honor board, it's you!!!CONLEJM wrote:When I saw there was a Global Marathon Challenge this month, I figured "ya, I'll do one half-marathon". And I did one, and it was hard, and figured I paid my dues.
Now I see David rowed 15 HMsand Jerry 5 HMs, Walter and John each rowed 3 HMs, Kyle, Izz, and Kenny each rowed two HMs, and Glenn, Joseph, Matthew, Terri, Keith, Lisa, Roger, Brent, and Lee also rowed a HM.
And on top of that, I see Walter rowed three FMsand Andy, Izz, and Jerry also rowed FMs.
Talk about inspiration!

If you talking about me...I know I did not row a FM this year I plan to shortly but not during the challenge, I went back and doubled checked my entries and did not find any issues..... Thanks for the thought... but nope just all HM's now on to my goal to out do last year....damselfly wrote:Congratulations to all who participated in the Global Marathon Challenge! What an awesome turnout by our team, and an inspiring start to the season. Our final list seems to be:
Full Marathons:
Walter (times 3!!), Izzz, Andy, Jerry, and David (I'm spotting him that meter, dammit!)
National Lampoon was a bit too "adult" for my High School self in the '70s. Just remember the furor over the Volkswagen spoof ad: "If Ted Kennedy drove a Volkswagen, he'd be President today.", which got them pulled from newsstands. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/alexdroog70/2701038371/) Guess the Kennedys took the humor the right - um, I mean wrong - way...brick1101 wrote:...I'm sorry to read here about humor being taken the wrong way. I was reminded of one of my old journal entries which shows how things can be misread. Here it is...
Being of age in the 1970’s, one publication I loved to read was The National Lampoon. The wit and satire was so perfect for that time in history...
Thanks for the link Keith. This Nonathlon is a good idea; trying to standardize race results for age/gender/weight. I meant to sign up last season but didn't get around to it. I signed up and entered my data for this 2013 season.tobyj wrote:The Nonathalon link is http://nonathlon.com if anyone fancies it next season
Nope, just putzin' around. I think I rowed three shorter times/distances on Wednesday which added up to that.Izzzmeister wrote: Jim C - 15,373 Hour?
