Season Meters: 1,000,687m
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Well done, Bob! It will be a lot easier to log the meters with your own rower at home now.
I'm logging out the 2012 season with 1,700,000m; that's a partial season for me, exactly five months of rowing. I'm hoping to double it for the 2013 season. We'll see ...
Cheers!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I think I started in July or August. I'll have to see how far back the log book goes.
Good going to you too!!!! I'll have to see what I can muster up for the coming year with an erg in the house. I'm planning on mixing it up a bit and not rowing everyday so we'll have to see how it pans out. Got a great deal on a used (mint) LifeFitness elliptical. High quality unit. Would never have spent the money for one of these new. I'm excited to see how I continue doing keeping my diabetes under control ( and the mirror isn't doing too bad either )

Thanks, Glenn! I love it!
Congrats on your cool mil, Bob!! And your elliptical. Pretty soon no one will be able to get you out of your house...
To the team: Anyone interested in tracking season goals, similar to how we track challenge goals? Maybe with a weekly status? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Hi Lisa, I like the idea of season goals, but honestly I cannot project out that far ahead. It's hard enough to set a monthly goal with any accuracy!
Today I fired a shot across my own bow in an effort to kick-start my own 2013 season. I rowed a 5k in 17:49.5, which Is a 1:46.9 pace and a PB for me. In fact, it is probably my best 5k time ever in 25 years of rowing. and as I type this, for one brief shining moment, I sit on top of the 5k boards as the fastest for the 2013 season! (I know this will last about ten minutes, but hey, a guy's gotta savor the small victories! ) Then I finished off with a 10k, moderate pace.
Gonna be a great season!

Welcome to new TimBukTOO rowers Walter Washington and Kenny Holliman!! Walter has started off the season with a bang -- with a full marathon!! Seems like the team has got another big dog barking in the boat!
And Jerry and David are off to a roaring start with their own half marathons. No one's wasting time getting their meters in for the Global Marathon Challenge!!!

Sure miss the scenery at the gym though.
Wish I would have thought about getting an early morning post to be tops for a short time.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Happy New Rowing Year, everyone!
My New Year's Rowing Resolution is to stay on the 10,000 m/day Honor Board for the entire year. I didn't quite get there last year, off by 9 x 20K rows but then I only started rowing seriously in July. Life being what it is (as I discovered yet again in April) I'll have to keep my fingers crossed on that score, but at least with my New Grip gloves I will never, ever have blisters again. Yay!!!
Sorry for my long absence; I've only just caught up with the posts, but belated congratulations are still sincere. So congratulations to all the new million meter members, to the personal bests achieved, to the new home erg owners (oh! the joy of it!), to those healing and persevering with health goals; and many thanks to Yisroel and Lisa for their support and continual updates and to those clever enough to add sparkle and laughter with entertaining clips that have made our pages worth reviewing (my vote goes to the Iron Ass Award posted in the January challenge--but maybe that's biased by personal context in recent weeks ).
And lastly: here's to a chatty and cheeky new year on the forum!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Hi all,
Yes, I did find the time to stay in shape this year! YAY! I was just a little short of 1M for the season, though, so I'm going to make that happen in this 2013 rowing season. On the last day of the season, I rowed a 1000m time trial and tied my PB. I was pretty stoked about that, because it confirms that yes, indeed, I AM in shape!
Tidbit of info: The woman who is the "Rower of the Day" today is consistently above me on the ranking boards. She looks pretty BA, right? I think she should join our team to help motivate me to kick her butt!
Thanks for all the motivation and good laughs. Oh, and Lisa, I like your idea of charting some goals. I'd be into that and it would definitely keep me accountable. If I put a goal out there for everyone to see, I am damn sure not going to screw it up! I also like your Ferris Buehler reference. I sometimes say that in my classes, but I don't know if those fuzzy little ducklings pick up on it or not.
Have a great day, y'all!
Cindy

Another benefit of rowing -- keeps you fit, whatever your age!!

Rowed another 5K and a 10K today; this time I focused on the 10K and I shaved 5.1 seconds off my previous PB to make a new PB for a 10K. Gonna be a good year!
Best wishes to all in the new rowing year!
