Count me in! I haven't been on much lately but have trying to stay pretty steady at the rowing. Not sure that with my schedule I can do 25 days of 5k, but i'll do as many as possible.

1. row regularly
2. continue to lift weights
3. crunches
4. stretches
5. cereal for breakfast

:)

Count me in too! I don't know if I can do the 25 days, but I certainly will try. Where I work we are starting a "Biggest Loser" competition beginning on Monday 3/6, so this will tie in very nicely. Typically I can get in 4-5K, 4 days per week, so if I really apply myself I might be able to do it.
Good luck to all the Ducks---get Qwacking! 8)

Martha

What a cool idea! I think that would be great to do it together at work! Ok, did a little over 5k today. Tomorrow will probably be a rest day b/c i can't fit it in the schedule. Will try to do weights or something instead!

Day 3..another March to Madness..Rowing style..LOL
Susan..don't worry.Take each day as it comes and we all succeed taking "baby steps".You may have slipped in the eating department but you DID row.Think of what would happen if you didn't row.Right..??
Calories in versus calories burned..you ARE buring those calories so keep on rowin' and keep up the good work!!I am off to do my row for today!! ROW!!!!!!!!!

8)
Pat (QWACKY)

My goal is to join the March madness for 20 days this March. This is a great goal for me this month than my usual 6k; it will be a challenge enough to squeeze 5k in each day. My only February rows were mostly 1-2k at a time, spread out over the day. 5k a day is way better than nothing. If I just squeeze in these few meters, I will reach my 3 million meter mark by the end of the month, and adding up those millions is great incentive for me.

I'm packing up & moving my family of 6, moving to a new city, buying a new house, setting up a rental, etc, etc, etc while attempting to homeschool 3 girls and keep one very active 4 year old constructively occupied, so I need to scale back my goals for March, but I don't want to give up the ghost either. So small is beautiful...

Other than reaching 3 million, my goals for March are daily brisk walks with my kids on bicycles, another hour at the playground (maybe I can do lunges and pushups then...), and trying to keep convenient healthy food on hand and keep a lid on stress eating.

To start this off, I'll get off the computer, and try to squeeze in a 1k while the pasta water heats. Oh, and I promise myself not to check the training forum until AFTER I row my 5k each day!

Margaret

OK, it's the 3rd, and I finally got rolling. I never have time to row on Wed, and yesterday I drove 300+ miles for a field trip, so didn't row after that.

It's great to have everyone so chatty again. It got quiet here in Feb.

I did it! I rowed 5k, in 5 to 15 minute increments, by the end of the day! This is progress!

Margaret

Margeret, good job on the getting small bits of rowing worked in through the day. That sounds like a good stratagy, I may need to do that as well.

Count me in for the March madness. I will attempt to complete the 5K for at least 25 days. I was doing pretty well until the end of January, when I got a head cold which knocked me out for the last week of Jan and about half of Feb. The incentive to keep at it this month is what I need. I've been doing some stress eating lately and I've gained about 3lb since the first of the year. Definatly the wrong direction. I am a heavyweight and really should be high lightweight.

Margeret, I will be looking for tips on how you manage your move. We will be moving sometime this spring. We have a house in the final stages of construction, so I am making all those time consuming and frustrating decisions about flooring, paint colors, light fixtures etc. This would be so much easier if I knew something about interior design......just hoping that the good taste police don't have to haul me away! After its done, well, then the move begins. I have 5y and 7y kids, free lance right now, but am in contract negotiations for a perment position, and am preparing a lecture for a continuing medical education seminar. With or without the challenge, I will undoubtedly be slowly going mad this month!

It is motivational to see what everyone else is doing to get their rowing in and how well we are all doing. Keep up the great work!

Pam
Margaret--Small chunks. What a good idea. I guess I think I have to sit down and do it all at one time. How far away are you moving?
Pat--thanks for cheering!
Schenley--300+ miles for a field trip. WOW!
Shelley--It is so much easier to stress eat. Good for you for working out! I'd much rather sit on the couch.
Martha--Good luck on being the biggest loser (out of context that sure sounds strange!)
Pam--I am glad there are not fasion police doing inspection. We moved into a 70's fixer upper house. Seems we are always working on something and there are strange colors and we have a mix of early attic for a motif!

I plan to row today in an hour and a half on-line and my erg which is in the basement is standing on end while my husband is trying to replum the dishwasher right above where my erg typically sits! We might need to put it in the hall. Guess that would keep my elbows from flapping! Life is never dull.

Hi to everyone else. Keep up the good work!

Susan

I haven't been able to find anything yet.

Susan - how's that dishwasher coming along? I had trouble with my rowpro session. So much for my first try on ver 2.0.
I saw only one winner. For March 1st.I thought I was missing something..but they are not there yet.
We are ALL winners in this challenge as in all the challenges.I always enjoy seeing the halls of fame and all the rowers who have put forth such an amazing effort. That is so motivating. My goal is to do 10,000 meters a day.I am so very close to my 4 million meter mark and this challenge will make it happen.
I am ready for another day..bring it on!! Let's ROW!!!

8)
Pat M.
QWACKY
