Mmmmmm, you said it! For all those of you who have thought about buying an ice cream maker, go for it; you won't regret it. Store bought has nothing on home-made--and forget those tiny Ben 'n Jerry or Hagen Daas containers! For half the price, I can make FOUR times the amount and--considering the amount of goodies I add--at least SIX times the number of calories.... What a bargain!

So let's say you don't add "amounts of goodies". Straight up ice cream comparison taste and cost give some detailed descriptions. (In other words, give us you best sales pitch).

I want to see some data and charts in that sales pitch.

I'd ask for both if I was paying customer.

Oy....again?? I've barely recovered from January!

I'm not going to bother posting goals for the individual challenge (unless of course I get shamed into it, in which case I'm lying and I'll post goals so there). The WEC on the other hand is yet another chance for Team Timbuk to have another strong showing.

The HARD part is going to be figuring out our travel plans. Since it's a World thing, should we tour Europe this time? Lots of cool sights to see along the way...

Yep, the calorie-to-dollar ratio sounds heavenly!!! Mmmmmmm...

I have an ice cream maker but haven't made ice cream -- I do make an awesome sugar-free frozen yogurt though!

ANOTHER CHALLENGE?!?!?! Yikes. Well, if you insist. That should do it to get me to my million for the season. B)

Anyone have ideas other than for a map-trip-tracking-thingie useful for motivation and challenge interest? We're going to run out of globe before long... I'm not opposed to another virtual tour, but was wondering if others have any good ideas. I based that last one on something Smitty posted once about relating the team row to a map-mileage equivalent.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Darn. Post that time, go home, get on the erg: now 18:29.6. If only I could keep taking off 15 seconds per day.... :)
Yes, with a combination of daily rows improving by 15s each, instant coffee plus a microwave, in 75 days you can go back in time!

I wasn't going to post goals for the individual challenge, though every 5-7 days, I was going to post those who are still in the running to make it to 25 x 5K or 25 x 10K.
But the WEC is one of the biggies and, even though it's not been that long since January's VTC, we're going to give it our best shot. So yes, we'll be accepting and posting team member's goals...

Congrats on the big one! Don't forget to request your freebies from C2. I think at 20 million you get a butler that comes to your house each day and posts the meters for you. Just 19M to go!!!

Thanks very much! No one ever told me how much effort it would be to hit a million meters!

I woke up with a slight pinch in my upper back yesterday, but stubbornly proceeded to row anyway. I managed a 2k in 6:50.8, finished out the rest of my rowing for the day without too much pain, but today I am definitely hurting. My solution for back pain involves ibuprofen and hanging from a chin-up bar, so I will be doing that a lot today. Plus shoveling, because it finally snowed here in NH after a snow-less winter. Hopefully I can get on the rower later, but I don't want to push it.

Sales pitch? I don't represent or have shares in any company involving ice cream ingredients or makers; my blurb was meant only as encouragement to endulge in one of those 'will I won't I' decisions, should it be one you had long harboured, given how much pleasure I've had from making my own and knowing exactly what's going in it and having control over how much: i.e., if the makers of Oreo ice cream put as many cookies in theirs as I do in mine, the resulting cost probably wouldn't meet the marketer's perception of price elasticity for ice cream (hey, I finally found a use for the Microeconomics 101 course I was compelled to take).

But, in case you're serious: possibly the only thing I perceive as being in favour of those high-end, exorbitantly priced 500 ml Ben 'n Jerry/Hagen Daas containers is their immediacy factor, as purchasing ready made products provides the shortest possible time between having the desire to stuff your face and acquiring the means to do it. :D Home-made takes forethought: purportedly 24 hours minimum, but I like hard ice cream so it's more like 36 hours.

Sorry you asked?
