Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Let's Bring It Home Strong!
If you've got RowPro then let's get together tomorrow (Sunday) to do a 30 minute team row to celebrate the last weekend of the January challenge. I've set it up for 8:00am Pacific time. Yeah us west-coasters will have to be up earlier than we might want on a Sunday, but at least this way those east coast types won't be rowing through lunch!
Any power, and speed, any distance...just 30 minutes for us all to bag a few more meters before the end of the challenge. Just check out the on-line sessions and it will be obvious. Hope to see a few or a whole slew of you there!

Bob, I used to use that app, but haven't in a while. Dunno if it still operates. Feel free (and anyone else, please!) to friend me, under Lisa Hakesley. A couple of us are on FB and friended, even Cap'n, but he never uses it.
Kyle, we'd absolutely LOVE to have you year-round!! Welcome!! And you get on up that list however darn high you want to go, brother.
Heather, point me to the team page you saw it on and I'll see about the applause hands.
I'll have to time-shift the row and be with you in spirit. (a) No RowPro, and (b) divorce would quickly ensue if I rowed that early on a Sunday morning.
I'm too pooped to row today, so I'll try to get in extra tomorrow and Monday to make up.
Last one to Miami is a rotten egg!!!!
Congratulations to David, who today topped an AMAZING 700k for the challenge!! Holy mackerel!!!!!!

Is there any way to watch this event? I can't row at 8:00 a.m. (I live in an apartment with paper-thin walls), but I could download the 20 day free version to cheer you all on.glenmbaker wrote:Let's Bring It Home Strong!

I saw it on the page you gave us during the 'fibbers' discussion: I've included the string you gave us. But I did look online and saw a huge number of smileys we could incorporate (if only we knew how )damselfly wrote:

Yeah, they're an entirely different website (web domain). Looks like they're using the same forum software package that C2forum.com uses, but have additional smilies to use. I'll contact C2 and see what the chances are for us to get more smilies. Don't hold your breath!!

Hmm...I think you could just install the software, hook up your C2, join the session, then just sit there and don't erg at all. Or go slow. Or drink coffee...it's all good!Hummingbird wrote:glenmbaker wrote:Let's Bring It Home Strong!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I just looked at it again, and I decided not to use it. In the old FB days (like, 15 iterations of their UI ago), it used to just have a box on your profile page that showed your recent workouts. Now it looks like it will publish a post to your stream for friends to see (just like when you share a link, change your status, or upload a photo). As in ...BoB/335 wrote:Just noticed this facebook link:

Has anyone used this?
You can just post it to a pre-defined list of friends tho, so if a bunch of us get together that would be cool.

ETA: Hey, can I pre-record a row and play it back later while in the group? That would be cool...

A couple ways it can look. Also like...
I changed my mind and set it up to go to my two TimBukTOO friends. We'll see if Cindy and Doc Mike object.

Never fear: I'll resist with you! Actually, I have 1998 machine with a basic monitor that can't do most of the fancy things I've seen people writing about here (no USB plug or anything)--so I think I'm off the hook anyway.damselfly wrote:Oh man, you're gonna suck me into this RowPro stuff, aren't you...
I won't hold my breath about the smileys, but some of them are pretty cute/mischievous. Thanks for looking into it.
I made a mistake thinking Monday was the last day; the 31st is on Tuesday = 3 more days. Is this good news?

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Gotta grin a little tonight. Decided to do a 10k and shattered my prior PB. Advanced more than 90 places, now on page two.
I'm sure that it's easiest to keep setting PBs when you're a newb like me, but it's good to see that even the LSDs seem to be having a positive effect.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Attention K-Mart Shoppers! (No, wait, that's not right...) Hello, challenge teammates!! (Yeah, better.) A lively 24 of 68 members (35%) logged 308,790 total meters. Nice rowing, even without my measly 12k!! Well done, team! 160k behind team 11, but they're rowing strong too.... Such a great challenge!

Mark A - 10,000

David is just about up in the crow's nest now, with an astounding 700k!!! Joseph sailed up to the 350k deck, while Adam and Matthew rowed in tandem to the 250k deck. Bob G hit and passed his 150k goal, while Gary G plowed through 100k and Tom blew by 50k. A belated congrats to the Cap'n who reached his 300k goal yesterday, as well! We now have a stunning 4 rowers above 500k (and Tyrone's sure to be there soon, if not already in Aussie time), 2 in the 400s, 3 in the 300s, 9 above 200 (and several close!), 13 above 100k, and 12 above 50k. Outstanding!!
