Sorry, folks, the trip update will be delayed today -- I got sucked into some domestic stuff. But yesterday was a GREAT day of rowing! Stay tuned....

Forget the domestic stuff- We're more important!!!
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I had a great week of rowing so far; I do think the weekend of rest did me some good. Not to brag (but i am going to ) I rowed for a PB every day this week, and each of then coming in at or above the 90th percentile for my age/weight. I may not be logging massive distances like the Big Dawgs, but I am getting pretty darn fast for an old guy.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Woot, woot, team!! We piled on 258 miles yesterday, taking us to 8,852,769 meters, or 5,498 miles. Yow!!! We indeed almost made it to the shores of the Mississippi (that's a fun word to type -- try it!), and spent the night in a little burg called Tallulah.
We had to tie Andy into his seat as we plowed through Shreveport, but he managed to quell his grief and channel that energy into some good oar-mastery. Plenty of nice water hereabouts to row in, like the Walnut Bayou near Tallulah....
We'll for sure make it into Mississippi through Jackson today. There we turn the boat southeast and start pulling for the coast. Hattiesburg is 154 miles away, totally doable, and if we're all feeling really frisky, we might make it to Mobile, Alabama, at 252 miles. So pull at them oars, me hearties, pull!!

What is it with you men! If I had done that... Sheesh. So now I have to post my meters when you're all tucked up in bed on the east coast? Or resume the flight of the hummingbird? Whee! Won't that be fun.The Blacksmith wrote:Plus One!!!
And on the topic of men, did none of you watch the instructional video that came with your machines? And you've been rowing how long? Hmm... if you're that far behind, I could give an additional tip--but if I'm going to keep some advantage for myself, I better not. Happy rowing sitting on that little nugget! Heh heh.

Follow INSTRUCTIONS? Men?!?! All I can say is it's a good thing the ergs don't actually GO anywhere... That way they're not put into the position of getting LOST and having to ask DIRECTIONS!!!!Hummingbird wrote: And on the topic of men, did none of you watch the instructional video that came with your machines? Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Jeez-I was bored and just trying to put a little fun and laughter in, not make a big challenge or anything-sorry. As for watching the video-well,no. Maybe I should see if I still have it . And you're not lost unless you can't find your way home,so a map or directions aren't really necessary ,right ???

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
YouTube is just LOADED with training and technique videos.

There was a woman Olympic rower from Canada (I think) that had a series of videos on there that were very helpful to me. If I find the link I will post it.
Here is a good video pointing out common errors (that I see ALL the time at the gym)
