Image 16 or 17 days remaining....

Hooboy! Will be REALLY glad to see midnight tomorrow...and the setting of the team rosters. This is the second of the team challenges...the last one is the World Erg Challenge, and if it looks ANYTHING like this one....whoa. Five of the teams in the top ten of this challenge are On-Water Clubs....so I think that means they are in a different division than the virtual teams. Regardless, we are battling onward: there's a close race (what's a million meter gap anyway?!) between 2-3-and 4 and certainly Overcoming Disabilities has Greenwich nipping at its erg butt (and they are chomping at Ariel Toy). And so it goes!

AWESOME ROWING, Challenge Teams! Congratulations, Luna-Tics Challenge Team on achieving TEN million challenge team meters! Congratulations, Overcoming Disabilities Challenge Team on achieving FIVE million challenge team meters!!

Way to row you guys (and gals)! I haven't been much help on this team challenge. I have a few thousand meters on my PM3 that still need to be uploaded, but not much. Life tends to get in the way sometimes, but that's okay, there's always next week! And I hope to be able to add a little to the team total in the coming weeks. Probably not as much as past challenges because I'm on a training schedule for a 15k run down in Jacksonville, Florida in March so I'm switching between running and rowing different days of the week. All in an effort to age gracefully
And thanks Kona2 for checking on me :)

Lots of great rowing meters from yesterday (ANOTHER one million meter day! It's officially a RECORD!)...and I've captured those numbers. Back in Denver today, but lots to catch up on. There's also this football game in a few hours....you'd think that it was Christmas Eve in Denver. There is a lot of anticipation, and everyone appears totally distracted. The grocery stores are filled with orange and blue outfitted shoppers and clerks . It's a mania I tell you! (My jersey is orange...)

Stay tuned...I'll get those numbers reported out sometime. I'd like to get a rowing session in today so I'm going to do that first!

Welcome Jonathan to the year round affiliation team! I am glad you joined us. I think you will enjoy the friendship and fun you will find here with the Luna-Tics. I think there are many other veterans on this team also.
Happy rowing to you always.
Jan, sorry about the total destruction last night, you think a team from Barb's neck of the woods would play nice.
Oh the humanity!

Image 15 or 16 days remaining....

Thanks, everyone, for rowing as members of our challenge teams! We're looking forward to a spectacular series of rowing days as we enter the second half of this Challenge! When the clock strikes midnight (stay with it...this is a different story), the team rosters will be set! What looks like a setback one day may provide "fuel" for the next day's results....and don't forget to have some fun with it!

Hooboy! Your individual meter contributions are sure propelling us forward - and there are an incredible number of personal milestones being met. Right now on the year round team, we have EIGHT people who are closing in on their first million meters of the rowing season....and they'll be meter millionaires before this challenge is done. We have FOUR who are closing in on TWO million meter seasons, THREE who are closing in on THREE million meter seasons, TWO who are closing in on FIVE million meter seasons, and one (for now) lone explorer who is within striking distance of SIX million meters ....although I really should say there are two individuals within striking distance of being a SIX million meter man...every so often, one of our teammates decides to row a supernova (that's 100,000 m in a day) and that seems to make short work of the gap between the actual and the goal ! That's a lot of erg time !

All In A Couple of Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 1.14.12

Post by Kona2 » January 15th, 2012, 2:41 pm

Welcome to two new year round team members! Team greetings to Jonathan Lewis and Walter Washington! We wish you many great rowing sessions...and lots of camaraderie!

Whoa...the forum page is going to be filled with lots of numbers today! The blue ones are from yesterday and the green ones are from today - unless I forget to color them and then you're on your own! :D

The 2k was a cool down, but the HM was a PB (by well over 4 minutes, and I even beat my 1 hr PB during it). So in 45 minutes I have a 1 hr scheduled in RowPro to hopefully beat my 1hr PB. Although I do feel like trying to beat my own PB for the 2k as well. If nobody joins me in the row I may just switch to a 2k and a 30min and see what I can do for the 2k.

Plenty of incentive as I just pulled a pan of muffins out of the oven. Fresh muffins after a workout. What more can I ask for? :)

And welcome to our new members. If you're not on the challenge team yet, there's only a few hours left to go (depending on your location)...
Wim (attempting to get back into rowing shape).
