Merry Christmas, all! Went for a nice run this AM to counteract food consumption for the day. It is a beautiful day here and I have a great deal to be grateful for. :)

That total is going up too, gradually, as folks continue to enter their meters. I'm hoping Bryan, Tyrone, and maybe some others will also enter some meters from the last few days/weeks.

I can almost grip objects again, so should be back in shape for the VTC!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Congrats to everyone on accumulating a bunch of meters for a good cause. My goal was to raise $4 and I hit it spot on :D

It's a nice quiet day here and we don't plan on doing one ounce of exercise, unless you count unwrapping presents, cooking and eating as exercise!

Back on the C2 tomorrow.

So much for a erg-free Christmas, my wife realized that the gym was closed so she decided to try the C2. Now I've got competition in the household. Even the dogs were looking like they wanted to give it a try (but the cats are doing their aloof thing and ignoring all of us as usual).

What else could I do? Sat down and knocked 14 seconds off of my 2k PB. After 3 weeks of erging I've hit 7:18. Somehow I think the seconds are going to get harder and harder to carve off from here on in!

Stupid question here-Am I automatically signed up for the next challenge, or is there somewhere I need to sign up?? I'm going to see if I can get back up to a decent amount of rowing if I can keep my injury from impeding my distance. Thanks,
Mark

No stupid questions, just stupid answers... :) You do need to sign up for the VTC since it is a team challenge. I think your team selection is probably still set to TimBukTWO from the last challenge, but you will need to go to your Team Page to confirm and enter the challenge. To verify that you've made it you can look at the TimBukTWO team roster for the challenge here.

A note to the whole team, we will be supporting individual goals again for this challenge and giving reports on percent complete with the daily challenge stats as we did with the fall challenge. So if you want to set yourself a meter goal (totally optional), please post it here or PM me and let me know. It helps keep on track to achieve your numbers.

I doubt it, she's pretty much glued to spinning. Personally I've never understood spinning...always makes me think of Grateful Dead concerts for some reason....

Sorry, I know the Captain & one of the lifeboats disappeared for a few days, but it didn't concern the sea-worthiness of our fine vessel...
My [74yo] mother had had a heart attack a couple weeks ago, & we were absconding to New York to relieve my overwhelmed octogenarian father for a couple of days. Because I first needed to sew up some loose ends at work, then we rushed out onto the road, then we rented a hotel room from 3:15am to 9am, then rushed to Brooklyn, I had no time to post. My father - the technophile, the first to have a [reel-to-reel] telephone answering machine, Betamax camcorder, 8-track player, etc. - who owns a desktop, laptop & netbook, had no Internet connection. (I didn't have time to get him online, only time to change the batteries in the chair-lift.) Then yesterday, we spent the day driving back to Indy, then dropped into bed. Today, we had a big wedding of the daughter of a close friend (and bike buddy) to the son of an important acquaintance.
So yes, I have brought back the lifeboat in perfect condition, though with one less gallon of rum among the vital provisions.
I am clearly ready to take the helm in my rum-enhanced state with my shaky hands for January's VTC...

Hey Izzy,
Hope your Mother gets better-sorry to hear of the health stuff. My parents are getting elderly and it is tough dealing with all of that stuff.
On a good note-just got on the erg after 3 days of sloth and feasting. Feel fat-need to get going. Been on a see-food diet (see food-eat it) for the holidays, and I can really pack the sweets away when I want to... 13k to start the "new path" with. Now all I need to do is set a goal for the challenge. I was thinking 275k, I thought I'd better be conservative with the back problems. On a good note-no more shooting pains down the back of the leg and from the foot to the knee. What a nice change :)

Izz, so sorry to hear about your mom! I pray she makes a full recovery soon, and that your dad is OK. Seems like a lot of us this age are starting to have these issues with aging parents. My mom is having heart issues as well and got a pacemaker a few months back, and is having many problems with the attendent meds for her condition. :(

Mark, I sooooo get the see-food diet. I'm usually very strict and log everything I eat, but am giving myself the week off. Still staying active though. It's a(nother) gorgeous day here, so I'm off to the out-of-doors to commune with the hills. They're greening up nicely and flowers should start blooming soon.

Take care, all!

P.S. Looks like some more meters have been reported, and we currently stand at $153.00 even for the challenge!! W00t!!

I know all too well dealing with elderly parents. It beats the alternative. Cherish the time while you have it.

Just visiting the total page and noticed the Jan 4 deadline. With numbers still climbing it looks as though we'll get there yet!

Whoop, whoop and hooyah! 100 percent of the Concept2 donation!

And well supported by the 2.35 percent of that total "earned" by this team. Great rowing by all !

Sorry that I stole this from another team site that I was just glancing at. I loved the graphics and what is that they say about the best form of flattery? So Kudos to the Luna-Tics as well as all of us here who rowed so hard to contribute to this worthy cause!!!
