Fantastic rowing, Team. Keep it up. Have a safe trip, Doctor Dan. And a great big welcome to our new members. You picked a winner!...but of course, I am biased.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Finally got around to doing my first HM. Phew.
I figured that since I had done several 1 hour pieces in the past, 1.5 hours wouldn't be THAT much harder. I was wrong. My butt and back were not used to it and I certainly feel it. Of course, since I didn't get many meters this week I'm just about caught up to the 200k goal for the challenge. Today's target: 23/30 * 200k = 153.3k. Hopefully I can get another row in today and put some padding in as I don't see much rowing happening on the weekdays this coming week.
I had been pondering attempting a FM one of these days, but I think it's going to be a while before I'll work my way up to that one. It's not happening anytime soon for me. I gained a whole new respect for those who do them regularly (as well as HMs).

Half moon...a first!
It's a first half moon for Wim! Congratulations!
The Global Marathon Challenge will occur in May...so if any team members have a half marathon or a full marathon on their personal goal list for what will be the 2013 Rowing Season - there will indeed be some opportunities.
Global Marathon Challenge
May 1–May 15
The Details
Choose from two levels of participation:
Full Marathon Challenge: Row or ski a full marathon (exactly 42,195 meters) in one workout during the first two weeks of May and enter it in your online logbook.
Half Marathon Challenge: Row or ski a half marathon (exactly 21,097 meters) in one workout during the first two weeks of May and enter it in your online logbook.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Thanks. And yes, I see more HMs in my future. Mostly during that challenge. The times that I have more than an hour and a half for a workout are pretty rare. I see mainly 30 minute sessions and 10km sessions in my future .

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 12.16.11
6 or 7 days to go !!
Woohoo! This is it -- the PEAK weekend for the Holiday Challenge! Overall Concept2 donation percentages stand at 55 percent as of earlier this morning. We've seen a steady five percent increase per 24 hr period in the last few days. This weekend - look for those donation $$$ to climb to an 8 to 10 percent increase per 24 hr period (they have to or the Rowing Universe will not have conspired to earn the full donation amount...)! Over 900 million Holiday Challenge meters on the ergs in the last 24 days...and this team has rowed 15 million of those meters. In-cred-ible! A big thanks to all who are rearranging their days in order to row some extra meters! That 30K Concept2 donation is going to make a huge difference for a lot of people in Vermont!
Not quite to your milestone yet? There is STILL time...and we'll be cheering you on all the way! Row, Lunies, row!

January Virtual Team Challenge
Sign on...sign on...sign on
Our roster is now open for the January Virtual Team Challenge! We do hope that you will choose to row with our virtual team for the 2012 January VTC. Four years ago, the forum opened up for team rooms, and Kaptain Kristine enticed us all to sign on to the Luna-Tics team...because we were going to the moon. So the VTC was a beginning for all of us - and we have enjoyed the journey ever so much - so we keep going. I'll be posting an official "please join us" on the Virtual Team section pretty soon.
For now - take a minute, go to your logbook and scroll across to the Teams heading. As you look down the page, you'll see a link to indicate that YES you are joining us for the virtual team challenge. We all contribute to the success of the team. Everyone is welcome to join.
Last year's Luna-Tic VTC team finished in fourth place....mere meters from the third place finish. We love the thrill of the hunt, and the chase. More importantly, we enjoy celebrating the milestones that we each achieve while we're busy rowing in these challenges.
Stay tuned for more info...but don't wait to sign on! All team rosters close on 15 January - and while that seems like a long way away right now, it will be here before you know it.
Looking forward to seeing you on the roster..

Back from Florida...
The wonderful time on the beaches of Naples FL is over.
These were my first real holidays in the US and I learned a lot of new things about steaks, key lime pies, spare ribs, crabs, steaks, large cars, cheap fuel prices (compared to Europe), very nice beaches, steaks, hamburgers, tuna (on the plate) and large alligators (in the swamp).
And we played golf too.
Did I mentioned the steaks yet?
Now I struggle with the temperature levels at home (around 1C or 30F compared with 80F in Florida)
Today I rowed on the erg for the first time since exactly one month. It felt like someone installed a new brake on the flywheel. I made about 6k with an extraordinary slow pace and felt exhausted afterwards.
This will probably not add to 100k until Christmas day, but of course I will give a try.
Probably Mr. Porterhouse and Ms. Key Lime Pie did their jobs pretty well.
I denied to climb a scale yet.

The Kids Are All Great !
Somewhere in Arkansas the erg has been well used today!
Kaylee has (10,593 m) to go for her 50,000 m Holiday Challenge....and for her Ladybug meters to count towards the Concept2 meters!
Ashlee has (15,035 m) to go for her 50,000 m Holiday Challenge goal ! Keep rowing! If you row just 2520 m every day until the finish...you can do it !
Ethan has (27,658 m) to go! Keep rowing Ethan ! It's a big number that can get smaller every day !

Re: Back from Florida...
Excellent! Hope to see you in RowPro tomorrow then. We'll be at a more even pace . And while I'm not big on key lime pies, porterhouses are indeed excellent. And hey, they have protein in them so they're good for building muscles. Excellent diet .Raoul wrote:The wonderful time on the beaches of Naples FL is over.

Good to see that we have more reindeer coming. I'm glad the stable is large enough to hold them all. I do pity the poor cleaning crew though.
Wim (attempting to get back into rowing shape).

Ah, but you are getting closer to that ONE million meter mark.....and then it's just a little more to 100K...Raoul wrote: This will probably not add to 100k until Christmas day, but of course I will give a try.
