Yesterday I took it easy and went for 7k. Today I set out to try and beat my PB. The result: 7,628m (!)
Wow! Congratulations.
Not only to set a PB, but then to demolish it 2 days later - that's great.

This weekend TomO and I are in a ‘mud run’ challenge, just for something different. It has been described as, an obstacle jumping, mud crawling, hill climbing gallop around the world famous Sydney Equestrian Cross Country Course! The flyer says, we’ll get wet, and muddy! :o

I’ll try and post some photos, Janet (I don’t want to mess my hair up) will definitely by watching from the grandstand!

Good weekend to all...BBB B)

I have had friends in the states that have done something similar. I think they called it Tough Mudder. It looked like fun, but you can't mind getting dirty, because you will. Have fun!

Image Good clean fun...

Hooboy! Baz and son are off to wallow in yet another adventure... literally. Mud pits? The idiomatic expression "it's the pits" used to be one that described a particularly unpleasant experience....now I think it's replaced with "it's just the worst." Good luck with the mud crawl, Baz and Tomo....Janet's going to have to tie you guys to the roof rack to get you home ...

Mud Run's Course Description:

Starting in waves, runners go around the arena and down the hill to the first bridge before crossing a number of obstacles on their way up the hill....... Now if we told you anymore it would spoil all the fun. Just be prepared for your face to hurt from grinning from ear to ear and to lose your voice from laughing to much!

We can tell you about the mud pits that give the event its name. The mud pits are the consistency of pouring cream but not as yummy. You will need to crawl through them to make it to the finish.

Total Distance:

Approximately 6kms

Obstacles:

Mostly man made obstacles, steeple chase jumps, water obstacles, rolling hills and mud pits.

Here's a photo from the 2009 competition.....whoa.

My stomach bug struck back for Round two on Tuesday.
Lots of bloating, burping and throwing up. :)

Not a good way to start the week. Feeling lots better though.

Comet Ron

Post by Kona2 » December 2nd, 2011, 1:58 pm

There are no coincidences .... you've "heard" me express that thought here before. So it should be no surprise that Comet the reindeer is behaving like a comet....leaving a trail of stars as he zooms along. At 200 K, Ron had earned $6 of the Concept2 donation...and picked up his antler lights. There's been either a full or almost full moon over Vermont for days now. Ron and Comet just passed the 300K (and $10 donation) milestone...and Comet's harness has started to glow red....I wonder if that's the afterburners kicking in...

Congratulations - and way to row, Ron ! I mean Comet.

Image 21 or 22 days to go !Image

Image 21

Image Concept2 Challenge Donations Earned:

Luna-Tics Team = $ 82.58

Concept2 Overall = $ 885.52
THREE PERCENT !!!

Image

And that data is now a couple of hours old - yep, the Rowing Universe has conspired to produce over $1000 in earned donations ... and chances are REALLY REALLY good that we will reach the FIVE percent mark later today...hooyah ! Over 280 million meters have been rowed in the last 8 days...and almost 5 million meters have been rowed by this team ! Astrogator is giddy over these numbers !

I'll bet that the Luna-Tics can row enough meters to bring in $300...or ONE percent of the total donation. There it is. You knew there might be a goal..... :D Those who already in the 4 cents per kilometer range are really helping us gain donation $$ even faster! This is a GREAT time of year for people trying to make their first million by the end of the 2011 calendar year.....the more you row, the closer you get to meter millionaire status, AND the more $$$ you help raise. Whoop, whoop !

Season meters as of 216/365 = 85,147,857 m

Total meters on the day = 501,341 m

Oars in space (participation) = 34 percent
