Rowed 15k in one session; a first for me.
Will hit 600k by the middle of this month.
Should have my first million sometime in January.
Cheers.

Great job on the 15K, btw! The crystal ball says you'll be rowing a half marathon (hooyah!) sooner than you know!

Since the Holiday Challenge is an individual challenge, you won't have to register. Like the Skeleton Crew Challenge, you just row and meters contributed throughout the Nov 24 - Dec 24 timeframe are your "Holiday Challenge" meters. Seems like there was at least one challenge this past year where Concept2 modified our logbooks to show challenge meters...does anyone else remember that?

There it was...the telltale signature of a full marathon...that "195" at the end of a 53,195 m total. Could it be? A quick perusal of the world rankings for full marathon revealed the answer. Yesterday afternoon a full marathon (completed in 3 hrs, 28 minutes) was submitted from Mt Ida, AR.

Congratulations, Tammy, on completing a full marathon. I think it's a first! Dang, girl - you are a speedy rower!

She's mooned us!
wooo hooo and congrats....i can't row that quickly in my dreams....

RE: Asteroid 2005 YU 55....looks like it's going to pass about three-quarters of the way between moon and earth. That puts the Tuesday pass at 59,000,000 m. Yikes...right now we're at 67.5 MM from the moon. We should have a very very close look at the quarter mile wide asteroid. Hope that three-quarters estimate isn't plus or minus 10 MM ...

Another returning teammate...runner and triathlete BJ Kinkade has signed on for another rowing cross-training season.

Nice. And congrats! I've been doing 14k sessions the last 4 times I've rowed. But the last 15 minutes are hard on my rear end. It was getting better when I was rowing 5 times per week, but at 2-3 times a week with 5 days of rest it's a lot harder it seems.

I did get a PB on the 60m today with 14544m, of which I'm quite proud. A French guy assisted me as he was rowing faster than me and I tried to keep pace with him for the first half of the row. :)

I want to try the HM badly, and was considering trying one today but found no takers for the HM so went with an hour instead. I'm glad I did (at least I was when I got to the 45m mark and had only 15 minutes left instead of being only halfway). My ideal session is probably the 10k at this point in time, but I'm trying to prepare for the HM.

You'll hit your million meters before me probably. While I'm planning on doing 200km for the Holiday challenge, I don't see myself rowing all that much before then. Two to three times a week will be pushing it.

Yes, it worked! Yay! I was so excited to see that number go up over the Million meter mark that I printed out my certificate for my gym wall and ordered my t-shirt and pin right away. My husband just smiles encouragingly and says that I'm "weird". But I that know he's proud of me, especially since he bought the rowing machine for me the year that I asked for a treadmill for Christmas. :)

Thank you again for the instructions, they were exactly what I needed.

Plenty going on in the team, to the milestones, Jodi, Tammy (great time) congratulations.

The Coast to Coast training is going okay, although suffering a slight tenderness in the left calf muscle after a run on the weekend. Running is/was always going to be my Achilles heel, so to speak!

Enjoy the week ahead...BBB :)

Thank you all for the congratulations. I'm really enjoying rowing, although I am trying to work back into running (that patellar tendonitis really set me back) I no longer consider it my main form of aerobic fitness. I used to think of rowing as "cross-training", but now I look at my runs as a cross-train workout and consider rowing my first choice. Good thing too because my runs have gotten really, really slow. :( I can relate to the other runners who incur injuries, but mine led me to the Luna-tics, so I have to say it worked out alright in the end. And you've got to admit, it's definitely easier on the knees (although the butt isn't always sitting pretty during those longer rows  Sorry, it sounded funnier in my head).
