We are in dock trouble again. I don't know if those that have been around recall, but I lost my dock in the March ice melt and floods. We rebuilt and were on the water by May. Pre-Irene we scrambled to remove sections of our dock to minimize as much damage as possible. Post Irene we were fine. I was away last weekend, so not sure how much was reassembled. It seems like we lost some sections according to this video one of my teammates took today. Check it out. You will understand why I am erging and not rowing.

OK, it may not be rocket science, but I can't find out how to join Luna-tics! I'm a beginning erger and a science team leader on the Cassini mission to Saturn, so my professional credentials are in the right place for Luna-tics even though my rowing prowess has a lot of improvement ahead. Could someone point me to the place where one joins a virtual team? Thanks!

The weekend is just around the corner for those of us on the ‘Paris’ side of the date-line. Entry form is in for the Speight’s Coast to Coast, along with the brother in law (and walking partner) so I'm a 'happy little vegemite' again and gives me something to work towards after missing out on the Black Cat Track.

Tough way to get a free beer mind you, but as always the fun will be in the journey.

And speaking of vegemite, here's a little something to put a rose in your cheeks...

Take care, and our thoughts are with our North American friends as we head into the weekend...

Cheers, BBB

Wow! I just scrolled down through the team roster to see if Richard made it on yet (he hasn't  ), and boy, are we looking good! A huge percentage of us are showing a profile picture of some kind or another. This is fantastic! It is so great to see all the photos and art that share just a bit of who you are and what you like in life. Thanks to all for taking the time to post such creative "snapshots" of yourselves!

Richard, it may not be rocket science, but sometimes it is not really obvious either when it comes to this stuff, so thanks for asking for help. Great to have you on the team (in advance!)

Hi Richard, if you also want to join the year round affiliation team, go to your profile at the top of your logbook page. Open that and go to edit profile. Towards the bottom of that page you will see affiliations, scroll to Luna-Tics and click on it. Save at the page bottom and now you are on the most wonderful team in the Milky Way galaxy.

Yeah, Karyn, that is a pretty fast moving river...scary!

So sorry you lost all your hard work, K2! Where do all those lost messages go? Is it cyber-space litter? I feel your pain!

All In A Couple Days Erging: Team Progress Thru 9.9.11

Post by Kona2 » September 10th, 2011, 2:24 pm

Image Another episode...bunny trails of the mind...

It's all this talk of adventuring that sent me down this bunny trail today...after all, we're on a grand adventure to the moon and back...Kristine is running through the Montana woods tomorrow in The Two Bear Marathon....Baz has signed up for another quest...Karyn's on-the-water team is trying to save its dock from destruction. We're drawn to adventure - virtual and otherwise. We've not lost our muchness (the remake of Alice in Wonderland is filled with good, although dark, things). And where there's adventure, there's a goal ! Fortunately we are not limited to just one adventure, or just one goal - we can have and celebrate many. So here's to adventure...and being muchier!

Season meters as of 133/365 = 42,581,706 m

Total meters on the day = 380,605 m

Oars in space (participation) = 30 percent

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights...Celebrations:

2.1 MM Cathie
1.65 MM Rosi
1.65 MM Ron
1.5 MM Ronnie
1.45 MM Gabby
1.35 MM Jim K
450 K Roger

and so many on the very brink of the next milestone...

Thanks to all who rowed today ! Have tried to capture both yesterday's post numbers and today's - I really don't know where the data goes when the backspace button is hit ... or the browser window is closed...I just know that it's gone, baby gone. This is usually more prevalent when using the smaller keyboard of the netbook (which is true for this last few days). Will try not to lose today's!

Ashlee 750 m
Kaylee 925 m
