What OTW Training have you done today

No, ergs don't yet float, but some of us do, and here's where you get to discuss that other form of rowing.

Sounds like a great pre-race workout.
Best of sculling!

16K. First part I was doing a drill suggested by (Rocket) Roy, who is fairly new to sculling but has some fabulous coaches so he will be flying in no time, if he isn't already. The drill is to take the catch and start the drive with light pressure, then build up the pressure as you go to the finish. It was particularly helpful to me because I have a bad habit of not finishing hard enough. I love drills.

A thread with quantifiable training reports? What a novel idea.

ah love these threads :)
so today, 1k warmup then 10k rowing by 8s at 150-155 heart rate.
then 5k a bit harder then steady state at a 24 heart rate 170-175 with it rising to 180 at the end.
then 10k squareblading by 8s.
then 1k cool down, 22,000 meters nice and tired now!

It sounds as if your reading on this forum has been limited to just one thread until now. There have been plenty of real results reported on at least a couple of others. They just don't have huge message counts.

No training to report as I've strained a muscle in my right lat area, probably due to over enthusiasm....

But I would be interested in any views about this boat which looks a bargain....it is the perfect 75-85k weight for me and I could keep it at Dorney Lake and just use it in nice water until I got good enough to take it on the Thames.

Kiwi International Rowing Skiff (KIRS) 8.1 Mould, Suits Weights of about 75-85kgs, Aluminium Wing Rigger, Blue Bow to half way down the boat where it fades to white, new size ten addidas rowing shoes. Made January 2010 Used lightly at J16 level for a year at school, competed in GB Junior Trials at the end of the year then stopped using it immediately after that because I grew out of it. Boat has never been used on the tideway so very little wear and tear and is in very good condition, always kept indoors and whenever transported was kept in a boat cover which comes with the boat. This is a very good offer and I am willing to discuss price as I need to sell it to buy another one. £4500 O.N.O Delivery anywhere around London and Henley, viewing possible but please get in touch with me to organise it. 8k in a 1x. First time ever in a single. Concentrated on balance and kept the stroke rate really low. What a rush!
