Re: Ranger's training thread
You are right!
You are almost jumping out of the seat! Why?
And why is the video jumping around so much and why do you look so fecked after rowing about 200m?

Hardly.
Though I did row 25K before I went back over to Europe Lake to shoot the video.
Forgot which ones, but on some of the passes, I was going 1:52 @ 30 spm.
My bladework is still lousy, but I now have some of the basics down.
You know, how to use your legs, and such.
So I am now at least as good as Mike VB.

Re: Ranger's training thread
I suspect our hero has been using some editing software to try to reduce the footage that shows his rowing to something that's unwatchable, so that the folks who can row (Nav, Al, Byron and Mike) don't have anything they can constructively comment on. He doesn't want to show his faults like letting the blades dig in too deep.Rocket Roy wrote: And why is the video jumping around so much and why do you look so fecked after rowing about 200m?
His shit about a broken tripod doesn't pass muster.

These are full clips.
I am just making passes by the dock, where my wife is shooting the video.
Sure.
My blades are still _way_ too deep most of the time, especially on my right.
I also mistime to catch on my right.
Way too much splash.
Oh well.
There are always things to work on.
I am left-handed.

Re: Ranger's training thread
BS. There's no way a modern video camera on a bright day would produce jumpy footage like that. You've been hacking it with video editing software.ranger wrote:No editing.Citroen wrote: I suspect our hero has been using some editing software to try to reduce the footage that shows his rowing to something that's unwatchable, so that the folks who can row (Nav, Al, Byron and Mike) don't have anything they can constructively comment on. Re: Ranger's training thread
Time to fire your coach then fucko. You are supposedly as good as MVB (trolling i know) but even to a layman like me your right blade looked like a bleedin rudder. All that time. All those metres (yeah right) and this is how you have ended up? Mike can't rate up is your familiar refrain. Mike could rate 18 and still beat you with enough time for a cigar afterwardsranger wrote:No editing.Citroen wrote: I suspect our hero has been using some editing software to try to reduce the footage that shows his rowing to something that's unwatchable, so that the folks who can row (Nav, Al, Byron and Mike) don't have anything they can constructively comment on. Yeah, those are full clips. You so fast on the water you break the visual barrier! One stroke is followed by another from the same spot on the water...no editing done there! I'd love to have a candid discussion with one of his family members just to get a feel for how deep-seeded his compulsive lying really is.

It sucks.
Lots of work to do still.
But I am making progress.
This is notable:
Some of the passes were made, 1:52 @ 30 spm.
Hmm.
Doesn't look like the splash on the right blade is hurtin' tooooo much.

My coach is well aware of my right oar.
Talks to me about it all day long.

Re: Ranger's training thread
You should have someone help you get your boat rigged up more appropriately for your physiology/geometry. That alone is causing some of the problems you're experiencing.
