Cogratulations Benny on your first of many million meter accomplishments.
I see Real Madrid has signed a 7 year old soccer prodigy. I sent a video of Ethan playing t ball to the Cubs. They could use a good switch hitting centerfielder. So what if he runs the wrong way sometimes, doesn't everybody?

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 8.7.11

Image Now entering....week 2 !!

Hooboy! If week one is ANY indication of how this team is going to go after meters in challenges for the 2012 rowing season, better buckle the seatbelt on the erg and hang on! We are going to be flying ! This week's challenge goal is 30,000 m for those over 16, and 6,000 m for those under 16. Looks like we have at least 40 percent of the team hanging in there for the Dog Days of Summr Challenge !

Welcome back, Anita! And welcome to new team members K C and Francine! Francine has joined us just in time for that million meter countdown (she is less than 5K away)! We're all about the celebration here! Haven't heard from CB in Pensacola...but he's got to be breathing on that one million meter milestone!

We've just finished off the 100th day of the 2012 rowing season - seems amazingly fast, doesn't it? Best part is that there's still 266 days to go (I think we get Feb 29 in the coming year)!

Season meters as of 100/365 = 34,467,106 m

Total meters on the day = 1,681,119 m (doesn't include Francince's meters yet)

Oars in space (participation) = 30 percent

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights...Celebrations: The list keeps growing! Excellent!

3 MM Lifetime Meters Ross (forgot to post this one, but we did celebrate it!)

Image Million Meter Watch:

Francine with (4,119 m) to go! She's poised, javelin in hand (I think it's a javelin), to snag the lucky 13th meter millionaire spot on the team!

Fall Challenge Team Roster

Post by Kona2 » August 9th, 2011, 11:55 am

Image

Team LUNA-TICS (named for our lunar distance goal) is dedicated to having fun while encouraging one another to row/erg onward and upward. After 9 years (!), we accumulated enough meters to land on the moon on March 1st. We're now headed back to Earth, and anticipate a much shorter trip. Our interstellar journeys are long, and we're always glad to have friendly teammates along for the journey. We hope to see you on our roster soon! Visit our Team Room on the C2 Forum under "Teams" to see what we are doing today, and join in with us! We always have room for more teammates in our virtual boat. The LUNA-TICS Challenge Team is open to all, and has no limit to the number of members.

I know, I know ... we're in the middle (well, not quite) of the Dog Days of Summmrr Challenge, and it seems a bit soon to be bringing up the Fall Team Challenge. I made a statement in another post that said that I thought we didn't have to sign up for the team challenges this year....and that was not correct (gasp!). We do have to sign up for the challenges! In your logbook, go across to the teams heading and click on the link that says "YES" you want to participate as a Luna-Tic in the upcoming Fall Team Challenge. Here's who is signed up thus far:

1 Jan Stevenson

2 Jim Kielma

3 Bobbie Kielma

4 Tom McGuire

5 Angelo Papadopoulos

6 David Hunter

7 Pat Schlueter

8 Barry O'Malley

9 Richard Miller

10 Tristan B

11 Ashlee S

12 Kaylee S

13 Harold Janusek

14 Jackson P

15 AUCHER Romain

16 Brett McCrory

20 Rosita Delacruz

21 Ronnie Mills

22 Anita Holub

23 Jim (Jay) Kielma Jr.

24 Benny Delacruz

25 Zander Fraser

26 Michelle Donavon

27 Tammy Gwinn

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 8.8.11

Image Dog Day 9 Dawns...

Image Another episode...and, since we're in dog days...

There is that moment in a dog toy's "life" when it occurs....the de-stuffing. Seemingly endless strands of fluff are pulled through whatever tear has been created....all to get at the SQUEAKER, an innocuous-looking plastic pocket filled with air - with a small plastic tube inserted to act as a reed. Dog parents choose toys wisely...if you can't stand the squeak, it will surely be the best-loved toy....hooboy! Life can be short; have fun with it!

Wowzer, mates! The team is growing as we enter the challenge season! What's really great to see is our percent participation growing as well. Throughout the non-challenge times of the rowing year, our rowing universe keeps steadily busy with about 29 - 32 percent of the team rowing on any given day. Once the challenges start happening, whether they are individual challenges or team challenges, the participation jumps up to 40, 50 and 65 percent. Cool stuff!

Season meters as of 101/365 = 35,861,604 m

Total meters on the day = 398,617 m

Oars in space (participation) = 40 percent! :D

Gotta say I am really impressed with the number of teammates who are bringing in the Challenge meters - and so proud of all the junior rowers who are putting in their meters, too. It takes a lot to get any of us to stay on the rower for any length of time, and it really takes a lot of personal discipline for those in the 16 and under category. Kudos for the hard work - I am sure it will pay off in many different ways! And for those setting an example for the toddlers and younger....you just think they don't notice the rowing....they'll be on those ergs before you know it!
