Did I see you commit to doing all of the distance trials before November? I'm curious, what possible scenarios could arise which would lead to the fact that you will not have performed one distance trial by November?

33 spm isn't that high a rate at all.

In a 1K trial OTW, I think I can rate 36-38 spm.

not high at all.
Apart from the fact that WRC rowers like Mahe Drysdale rate 35 for their races.....
J16, 72kg.
2k 7:08.6
2k OTW 8:01.9

Jimmy!
He thinks he can.
We know he can't and will never even try.

He'll deny that he will fail to ever try. But, ask him for a date of his 1st 1k trial and he'll waffle.... with shoulds and ifs...

Today is sort of a ranger "D" day, BTW ... for ranger and the 5k head race OTW. Registration closes shortly for the Head of the Charles singles draw.
As I've said before, I do hope our hero gets accepted in the 60's men division. It will be held early Sunday morning of the two day event in October... I'll probably fall off one of the bridges laughing as ol' mantis gripping slide-rusher porpoises by...
The video footage would be golden!!

It interesting that Von MannBatt is not regurgitating all those predictions as he did last year: that he "should" whoop the field in his Fluid, the Windbagger.

He now has his top of the line timing device with which he'll tease us....one stroke readings and such...
At 30 spm he'll need to take nearly 480 strokes to complete the Charles...

I can safely predict that there will be no posting of 500 stroke averages from his SpeedCoach XL2!

None, other than illness or injury.

No problem at the moment.

Race preparation is coming along great.

And I feel great.

Mahe Drysdale is a bit bigger than I am.

And this is only 1K.

I'll get you some video footage of 1:49 @ 33 spm (8 SPI).

I would be interested in what you think about it.

I don't know, I guess, but to me, technically, that seems pretty good for a 60s rower.

It's certainly much better than I used to do.

I don't have any problem with fitness.

I probably can't get a continuous 5K, but Kangaroo Lake is 4K, top to bottom.

http://maps.google.com/maps?client=safa ... CBYQ8gEwAA

That's where I will hang out for the next month or so.

Sure, I can get you some 4K times.

That's 2.5 miles.

Yea.

1:55 @ 28 spm, that's 430 strokes.

9.3 MPS?

At 15 seconds per 500m over erg times, that's the equivalent of 4K OTErg, 1:40 @ 28 spm.

Back in 2003, I did lots of 4Ks at 1:42 OTErg, but that was rowing badly at max drag.

I am _much_ better than that now.

Okay, let me ask another way. You've made the same claims dozens of times, with no problems, and no illness or injury. Why have you been ready for years and never done them?

Clearly, if I didn't do them, I wasn't ready.

I didn't drop the drag until this winter.

I didn't get catches and finishes right until this summer.

Etc.

I made progress all along the line, though.

I now row well (13 SPI) at low drag (120 df.).

Fastern your seatbelts everyone! We're in for the regular ranger-ride.
I can
I should

never " tomorrow I will start with a 1k at my 4k pace and rate...." = 1:55 @ 28 spm

You don't fool us for a second...
you talk; you fake; you pretend.... you don't perform and never will.

Let's see a SpeedCoach photo, RIch... that's all it takes

1k, 1:55.0 avg, with the time showing 3:50.0 or better... to be sculled at any rate you choose...

It's just rating 28 spm, Mike.

That's standard 5K stuff.

Go back and read my entire post. Do you have the brain cells to comprehend what I'm saying?
Pull them out of the brew and see if you can follow..

You will not post a picture of your NK's screen showing 1k and a time of better than 3:50... I do not care about rate.
Rate your 28 if you want. Rate 40 spm...

You simply are unable to move a boat due to your bad form created on the erg.

THere is abundant evidence that ranger is merely a troll/[Bot]

Let's go back to a post he made over a year ago:

July 7th, 2010, 1:38 pm

mikvan52 wrote:
"What does a 1:41.5 pace for 2k on the erg have to do with a winning performance at the HOCR?'

to which ranger replied:
"For rowers of the same weight and technical accomplishment, everything. In fact, for rowers of the same weight and technical accomplishment, if one rower does 1:41 for 5K on the erg and the other does 1:48, it is a good bet that the first rower will beat the second rower for 5K OTW by seven seconds per 500m, too."

The blatant idiocy of this man is so very fun to witness... ranger caveat "same weight and technical accomplishment" qualifies what he's saying to the point of being ridiculous and ignores the sense of the question.. as usual...

I wonder how he'll wriggle out of doing any OTW racing this fall...
"still learning to scull" is my bet... after 8 years as a beginner ... at 1-2 million meters every summer...

Okay, let me try this yet again? You have said dozens of times over theyears that you were in peak fitness, technique was perfect, and you were ready for the FM distance trial in the next couple days. On each occasion you did not do the trial, and later said you needed to drop the drag, get a catch right, perfect a triple lindy toe tap, etc. What happens between the exclamation of being ready, and the FM trial that you do not do two days later, that causes you to feel obligated to revamp your technique yet again?

Either way you're a compulsive liar. You're either lying about being ready for the FM trial dozens of times, or you try the trial, fail, and then lie about a necessary change in your technique. This cannot be disputed, although you will do just that.

I understand you don't care, but the reason everybody thinks you're such a pathetic douche is because you speak condescendingly about feats many people work very hard toward and could never achieve. If you could perform these feats it would be bad enough, but for somebody to act this way and never back anything up is beyond reprehensible. When UofM finally pushes you out the door you should run for a seat in the US HOR. You'd probably feel a real kindred spirit there.

He would then be the head douche in a room full of douches ... spinning tales of BS in a non-stop hum of BS ... which sounds a lot like a peotry class I think!
