I see that he has been loading up the blog list on the U.K. forum, posting at odd hours through the night. Is that getting to be a problem? I remember that there were complaints about that from your side of the pond when it happened before.

An excellent point, and one I have considered. Ultimately I don't have a problem with someone changing what another poster wrote, so long as it's made clear that they've done so (e.g. with a 'fixed that for you' comment). But just changing what somebody wrote, or changing the attribution of a quote, is a no-no.

Always interested in contrary views though - I'm very open to learning from others ;)
There is no offense committed when changing a ranger post.

One simply changes one bit of nonsense and falsehood to another bit of nonsense and falsehood. What is the crime?

It is not possible to make ranger look stupider or more dishonest than his own posts make him appear. Indeed, people show up here to see if there is some new folly in the making or whether ranger is simply belaboring his current folly.

It may be possible, however, to provide a benefit to readers by altering ranger's nonsense. An emendation could, perhaps, bring some originality to the repetition that is ranger's hallmark.

In fact, one could convincingly argue that changing ranger's posts is doing a service to this thread, which is either an abomination or merely low comedy, depending on one's view at the moment.

If I ran this board you'd be allowed a big fat ZERO smileys. We don't need no steenking smileys.

Great distance cadence now at 26 spm and 12 SPI.

I assume that's what I will rate for a FM trial.

For a lightweight, 26 spm is entirely normal as a FM rate.

Stroke feels great.

All of the parts of the drive (catch, push, swing, finish; quads, hams&glutes, abs, lats) are now in order--strong, solidly levered at the footplate, sequenced, timed, etc.).

Drag is low (120 df.).

Slide is full. (The wheels of my seat are now six inches from front stops at the catch. The handle is on the crankcase).

I can now strengthen/weaken each part of the drive independently, without sacrificing the basic contours of my technique.

So I can work on technique all the time, just rowing normally.

26 spm was also my favorite rate for everyday rowing when I first began to erg ten years ago.

The only difference is that, then, I went 1:54 (9 SPI) when I rated 26 spm (as in a FM).

I now go 1:44 (12 SPI).

That's right around a one second per 500m improvement a year for the ten years that it took me to learn to row well at low drag (120 df.).

Back in 2002, I had to rate 32 spm to go 1:44.

15K OTErg this morning.

Out OTW as soon as the sun comes up.

BTW, I have ordered a NK XL2 Speed Coach and heart rate belt. It should arrive in a couple of days.

Nice Gizmo.

Upgrade.

Hooray! Mr 7:02.3 is back and posting!

Let the lies begin...

Can't wait to see the video clip of his improved rowing, and I also can't wait for that FM attempt. Any day now, right?

Yes, like last time you said the handle was at the crankcase, then you posted a video showing it was about 8" away. Is there any reason to believe you're a single day closer to your FM than you were 4 years ago? If you're going to insist on coming here to lie every day, you should at least choose a topic that is even somewhat believable. I don't know, maybe tell us you're going to drink a liter of vodka every day for a month. At least we could get behind that one because it's physically possible for you to achieve.
