It stands at 6.42.5 done by Brian Bailey.

I am now training with PaulS with the sole aim to break the WR at Boston next year.

I had taken 3 years out to ride my bike, now I'm back, been back 5 weeks now.
Best of luck, but I would guess that it won't be there when you arrive at Boston next year.

By that time, the 60s lwt WR is more likely to be something like 6:20, and so not only well beyond you and other 60s lwts, but well beyond any 50s lwts, too.

So you mean the 60-64 lwt record is "soft", like you said my record set in 2006 was soft?

And who will set this 6.20 time? You?

Sure.

Why not?

It doesn't have any significance at all.

In this case, I reported the distance pretty exactly, while under-reporting the time and speed.

But not by any amount that makes a whit of difference.

What makes a difference is that I rode my bike for close to three hours before breakfast, without any problem at all, zipping along at a pretty good clip, not even running a UT2 HR.

Felt great.

My fitness is excellent, and I am maintaining it while I wait for my intercostals to heal, so I can get back to my rowing, both OTErg and OTW.

I think I should be back rowing in a couple of days.

At the moment, when I am not injured, I am using my rowing OTErg as cross-training for my rowing OTW, and vice versa.

Now that I row well (13 SPI) at low drag (120 df.), I am not cross-training in any other way.

My training goal for this summer is to get into a daily regimen of 20K OTErg just before dawn followed by 20K OTW, just after dawn.

If I succeed in this, the game is won.

When did you calibrate that? It's bound to be wrong, it was wrong last time you reported your pedalless cycling.
The calibration is fine.

Steve
I repeat:

The issue isn't "accuracy in reporting."

The issue is doing the work.

Training isn't a performance.

Lordy, folks.

Priorities make a difference.

It is ridiculous that people, e.g., who pull 8 SPI, are interested in the exact reporting of their distances and paces.

Who cares?

Waste of time, unless they learn how to row.

They are missing the sport entirely.

The exact reporting of easy bike riding before breakfast while recovering from an injury is similarly ridiculous.

Who cares?

I have nothing to prove with my biking.

I am not a biker, and I am only biking because I am injured.

I am not biking hard.

I am just taking easy rides before breakfast.

No, older folks can have substantial HRs.

My maxHR is still 190 bpm.

For me, 106 bpm is 45% HRR.

Ranger, how is your training going?

Why don't you sign up with PaulS, he is the top trainer around you know. And very reasonable too!

Just looking at the numbers Brian's record is the most impressive one out there, see:

Good luck Roy! Looking forward to seeing you again, this time I'll be sure to introduce myself.

Any chance you could provide any photos of a 190 HR on your pm4? Even from as far back as 2003? Has 190 actually been seen or is it a completely hypothetical number that the public will never see, similar to your erg potentials?

Wow, now you've done it Roy. This will just anger ranger and he'll make his technique even better...probably leading to a sub 6 2k as a 60's lwt.

Kidding aside, I am equally excited about your approach of the record and ranger's increasing level of fury and insanity as he sees you getting the best of him again. This should be a tremendous show.

I don't just say I see lots of 25mph on the dial or whatever, you dont prove any of your boasts!

In the more conventional physics, if you accurately report the distance and under-report the time then you have over-reported the speed, not under-reported it.

Roy, don''t mention the R word, that won't be allowed, just talk about you own training, and let other guys also report on there training, everything else will be killed...
